HOLY CARP!!!

I remember those days. This past cycle was induced with Provera.
But I could go 9+ months without a period at times.

When are you going to test? Dr wants me in to get a preggo test in a week. DF went and bought one today, since I woke up yesterday and today feeling dizzy and light headed. I told him he wasted 8 dollars.....but I love him anyways The test was so friggin faint I think I am seeing things, so I am gunna wait to get another one.

hey lilgsmommy, thanks for your reply - your p4 is such a pretty number! i got my results today and p4 was only 5! holy crap! the nurse said anything above 3 indicates o (whichi i knew), but thank heavens i have that crinone hanging around. you better believe i'm using it. e2 was high 260 and fsh 3.4

i don't think i can wait til monday - that was the plan, since i o'd on the full moon, and monday is the new. i have 1 test and plan to use with fmu tomorrow b4 we go.

if it's a bfn, i'll get a hcg test on monday and then if *that* is bfn, i will stop the progesterone and reboot. *sigh*

still haven't figured out what to do in terms of monitoring in june, since it's going to be very busy month - i'll actually be o'ing on the *right* side...

ok, i'm so tired, my eyes are going to fall out...
love and healing thoughts to you all...

What can I do to start my period that doesn't involve pumping my body full of drugs? I'm still nursing...and I do not have plans to stop nursing. And neither does Willow. I know what the problem is...so I can't justify going to the dr...because he'll just want to put me on birth control. I'm highly upset that I can't swear on here...because that's really all I feel like doing. I'm angry...I'm depressed...I'm tired of f'ing waiting.

I look at my hands...and they look so old. My body just looks...worn out. My face looks old...I don't remember me looking like that.

I have this one friend on MSN that keeps asking me "AF yet?" "Day Number?" I don't want to be reminded of the fact that my equipment is faulty. But I am...every freakin' day. I'm sick and tired of it.

Rant over...for now.
Jenn - I woud go to your ob/gyn or midwife and ask him/her about Prometrium or natural progesterone cream. Prometrium is the natural progesterone your body produces so it may be safe to take while nursing. It works similar to Provera which is synthetic. You take it for a certain number of days and then AF should come sometime afterwards.

Thank you for the recommendation...unfortunately it does show up in breastmilk and is only moderately safe. It also isn't recommended to take if you suffer from depression because it could cause relapses.

I appreciate the help.
Have you considered seeing a naturopathic doctor? Maybe there is something he/she can recommend.

Other than that, I would think that you and your doctors need to weigh your options and the risks of each. Taking progesterone has its risks and not having AF also has its risks. I hope there is another option out there for you.

There are no naturopaths in Lubbock. If I wanted to travel...I could because there are several on our insurance.

I do know that not having AF has its risks...I was diagnosed with PCOS in 1995. One way or another we'll get my cycles rebooted...but right now...not nursing isn't an option.

I have trouble listening to a dr who cut me open to take my child out unnecessarily. Lubbock is not conducive to free thinking...this is a town full of idiots who blindly follow whatever their "Divinely Inspired Doctors" tell them to do. I'm not one of these people, thankfully.

I appreciate your advice. Thank you so much.
Hi everyone. I just found this thread. Let me introduce myself. I am currently ttc #3, although not too hard. I would prefer not to get pg before November but with my history I'll take whatever I can get. So, I am charting and we are not using protection but we are not being militant about bding every day. I am still nursing my 16.5mo. I got af back when he was just about a year old but it wasn't regular and I wasn't consistently ovulating.

Has anyone tried acupuncture for pcos or fertility in general? I just started a few weeks ago. I've had 3 treatments so far. I seemed to have responded really well to it almost immediately. After the first treatment, I started bleeding when I would've expected to ovulate. After the second treatment a week later, I actually ovulated on CD13 of the next cycle with tons of ewcm (sorry if tmi), which is unheard of for me. I'm not sure how consistent this will be since that was my first cycle doing the acupuncture but it has got me optimistic. And, for those of you looking for a drug-free treatment, acupuncture might be something to try.

Subscribing here. Today is cycle day 3,473 is would seem. Honestly I don't have any idea. Way into the triple digits. I have a herbal liver detox kit on its way to me in the mail and am hoping that that will bring on AF.

I am on day two right now of a 14 day dietary detox. No meat, very limited dairy, no refined sugar or simple carbs. Lots of fresh, organic veggies and fruits. I am stuck at the weight I am at and hoping this will get me over the hump. I am doing yoga every other day, pilates on the other day. Walking to and from work. Getting to the gym when I can.

I am back at the 1000 mg Metformin, the 1500 made me super sick, but am going back up to the 1500 mg tomorrow. Happy thoughts, please. I have an app't to go back to the doc the 22nd to have bloodwork done again. If the detox does not bring on AF by then I am going to do the Provera to bring one on. This cycle will be the end of my sanity if it does not end soon.

I think I am going to start a prenatal vitamin in place of my regular multi-vitamin. How is that for hopeful? I mean really we have to have a graduate from this little pow-wow sometime...don't we?

MarineWife~ The chiro in town just brought an accupuncturist into his practice. I am thinking of making an app't. Tell me more about it....

Jenn~Sorry you are down, pumpkin. I hear you about living in a not-so-progressive town...and that's being generous. I will let you know if my liver detox works at stimulating AF and if so send you the link to the place I ordered it from. Tell your MSN buddy to shove off if you don't want to be asked about it. I finally had to tell my MIL that if she asked me one more time about my pregnancy status that I was going to slap her. Not terribly diplomatic, but pretty effective.

Jackie~Thanks for getting this thread started for the new month, and for the thread in finding your tribe. You are are very own mother hen and we you!

Celesterra~ Slow down woman! Get some rest, read your book. Sending rest and healing vibes YOUR way. Thanks again for the DVD recomendation. It is great!

lilgsmommy~ SUPER SUPER BFP vibes for you......hoping that you can be our first graduate.

I am off to work now. On day 4 of eight in a row...lots of people on vacation. Will check in later this week.

to you all!

The acupuncturist I go to is the wife of my chiropractor. I started seeing the chiropractor about a year ago for my back pain, which he got rid of within a few months after years of allopathic medical treatments and traditional physical therapy. I had my 3rd acupuncture treatment Friday and am having another Monday b/c she said I should try to get another in before I ovulate to help stimulate things more. I talked to her about ovulating so early and she said that I had a quicker than normal response but it is very possible it was helped by the acupuncture. Most of the time she says to give it at least 3 months of going once a week at first. She also said that a lot of times one ovary releases an egg earlier than the other so the timing can vary every other cycle. So, for example, last cycle I ovulated early, CD13, so this cycle with the other ovary I might not ovulate until about CD18. I'll let you know what happens. I am at CD13 now. I've heard chiropractic can help with fertility as well.

If you don't know, sometimes when you have a lot of nausea with the regular metformin the extended release can be better. It's known for not causing as much nausea or other side effects. That's the only one I've ever taken so I can't compare personally.

Well, HI fellow pcos-ers, welcome to the new "faces"...

for me, af is sure to arrive any day now. If she’s coming, I hope it’ll be today, if for no other reason than to keep things moving. It’s strange, cuz my temps have been falling for the past several days, so much so that I didn’t even take the progesterone supplement (it’s $$$!), but still no sign of af. My bbs aren’t sore in the way that they usually are: they sort of sting. all over. Weird. Part of me feels like I should still take the prog, just in case, but the chance is SO remote, and it will delay af for sure.

I have decided that I must re-dedicate myself to this cause of ttc in a new way... I have to be much more disciplined, esp. in my eating/stress management habits. I am seeing a chiro for the 1st time tomorrow. Now that I’m back to about 80% from the pelvic fracture, I think it’s time to give up the massage therapy (sigh) and move on to chiro... I am really hoping that she can help.

In addition, once June is done, I am going to seriously SLOW DOWN. More evenings at home, more knitting instead of quilting, more YOGA instead of long walks (since I’m not so good in the summer heat). Btw now and July 3, I will be in Chicago for 4 days this weekend, my folks are visiting next weekend, and we have to go up to Massach for depositions from our car accident (Finally! It’s been over a year!) from June 30-July 3. Gaaah! Plus, my company is moving the week of the 24th of June. So, yeah, June is pretty much out of control! But that’s ok. I know I have been sounding breathless lately, but we actually had fun in NYC this weekend, and it *was* really good to get away.

We are also considering stopping the clomid in july - taking a couple of mo. off. July will be o on the left (no tube), and in august, dh is going to be in china for 2 weeks, so maybe we’ll just try to keep the cycle going and then start in with clomid+iui in October... sigh. Another year gone by. Has anyone been successful at keeping their cycle regular for a few months btw taking clomid?

that's me for now... to all,

Well, after three years off ttc....and two years of thinking I did not have PCOS...TOday, I was proven wrong.

As the u/s image of my ovary popped up on the screen, I saw that I was very very wrong....Perfect classic string of pearls around my ovary.

I begin metformin tomorrow. We are headed to IVF so, I am trying to get all my stuff under control.

Any tips?
