Hi,

Well ladies I have taken the leap.. I officially registered for my RPN course and now have my start date, times, classes, etc... I am excited and nervous at the same time.. I work part time as it is in a hospital.. so its not all going to be German to me but still interesting... I chose not to do the BScN course (in order to be RN in Canada you need a BScN) because our local university is good but that program sucks.. instead im doing the diploma 2 yr RPN course...

Any other nursing mamas to be???

I am going for my R.N. Right now I have 3 prerequsites before I can offiially get in the nursing program which is two years.Once you are finished with your prerequsites you have put in 4 years. So ascially it is a 4 year program . I'm not sure what you are working for?

We used to have a 2 yr RN program in Canada.. Now anyone who wants to be an R.N. has to have a 4 year bachelors...

I am doing the 2 yr Registered Practical Nurse... which from reading is equivalent to the Associates Degree R.N in the usa.. but the title is practically the same as the LPN which is only 9-18months down there...

Gets confusing...

Hi Tricia. I am not a "nursing mama to be", but wanted to welcome you into the career of nursing

School might get a bit bumpy, with clinical rotations, schoolwork and managing that with a family, but we'll all be here to encourage and inspire you!

Good luck and congratulations!

PS: I have my BSN, and was a LPN for 10 yrs
