I just checked the weather and yuck it is 90 in portland. I agree with you about hating hot weather. But, moving to alaska? No way! Check out the mosquitos!<br><br><a href="http://www.ipmofalaska.com/files/mosquitoes.html" target="_blank">http://www.ipmofalaska.com/files/mosquitoes.html</a><br><br><br>
How about moving to the oregon coast? That would be my ideal! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/winky.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink"> :LOL

It was actually warmer on the Oregon coast yesterday according to last night's news.<br>
I agree, it is really hot, but I too hope the nice weather holds until the weekend is over. I've been longing to do some outdoor things with my boys.

I actually like the warm weather. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up"><br>
It feels good to me. Especially, with the wind blowing. DS got to play in the water from the hose today.<br>
Sorry, you are to hot Victoria. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad">

I am glad that someone is enjoying the weather though.<br><br>

I'm sorry you are so miserable! The heat can be tough when you have kids. I've always been a sun worshiper and I've loved the heat, but packing around a toddler who is heat sensitive has killed that! :LOL It's supposed to cool back down for a couple days if that makes you feel better! It might even rain more!<br>
As for Alaska...I used to live near Anchorage and it gets about 85 degress there too sometimes. And the sun doesn't set so it's warm all day long.<br>
I hope you get some relief soon!

I am gearing up for the heat up here in Seattle. It is supposed to be near 90 Friday. So, I bought popsicles (for me, dd won't touch 'em), melon for us both, got a good book from the library and we are going to have water play all day on the back deck. Dd is contained, we have a nice umbrella to shade us, and the kitchen is right there for sustenance. We are going to go with the flow and enjoy until Saturday when the rain returns. Not complaining, mind you, I do appreciate the rain as it keeps my water bill down and my yard green.

I'm with you Victorian. I was in PDX for a year downtown and I almost passed out from heat exhaustion a few times waiting for the bus. Of course I came from 18 years in Alaska. It's stinking hot here in the desert (how did I get here?) and we leave tomorrow for Northern Idaho, and can't wait for cooler weather.

I grew up in Madras so you'd think I would be use to it but no. Of course the desert is a lot dryer heat, not like the sticky heat in PDX (I realize that all you southerners are laughing at me saying this - I went through the airport in Atlanta in Jan. and was sweeting from the humidity). But the part that kills me is walking dd to school 5 blocks away and back. mmmm....popsickles - I haven't had those for years! Maybe I'll pick some up.<br><br>

I come from the desert and my family lives in MS and I think that both types of heat bite. Yesterday was warm......... enough for me to turn on the air for awhile but it does make me very happy that we don't live in Vegas any more that is for sure!

I'm not fond of heat, either. Is there a smilie for Oregonians dripping sweat?<br><br>
DS was a fussy mess last night and couldn't sleep. He kept trying to nurse, but something tells me hot milk wasn't quite the comfort he was hoping for. Poor baby. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> I ended up giving him a cold wet washcloth to suck on.<br><br>
I think today we'll set up the birthing tub/kiddie pool outside. I knew it would come in handy eventually. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">
