I've been meaning to for some time, and had bought a pair of needles, the Stitch 'n' Bitch Handbook (which I
) and some yarn, but I never seemed to have the time. Then this weekend I had to have an emergency appendectomy, and spent hours & hours sitting in a hospital bed...knittting! I've already figured out how to make a slip knot, cast on, and knit rows, and I have about 7" of plain knit scarf done already. I know this must sound really pitiful to all of you experienced knitters, but I'm pretty darn excited! :LOL

I hope you feel better soon! That's some rough surgery- but I hope that knitting helped take some of the pain. So... did you actually decipher directions on pain meds? If so- that's amazing! It usually takes me all my brain power on a good day!
