Have fun and do lots of relaxing! San Diego next week is about the closest I'll get to Hawaii - I must admit I'm looking forward to getting out of this chilly midwest weather - if only for 24 hours or so!

oh, MamaChef, i'm so jealous. have fun!

never even checked in on last week's chat, so i hope everyone is doing well. it's been a busy few weeks with the holidays and much traveling. finally back at home and settling in. busily trying to de-clutter and get organized. meeting a friend this weekend to whom i lent a bunch of baby stuff. will be getting all my stuff back as well as a bunch of stuff she no longer needs (they've decided not to have anymore children). turns out she has a co-sleeper she's going to give me. what a relief, that was the one big item on my list of things to get. now i don't have to. hooray!

am 24 weeks today (YIKES) and am wondering where the time has gone.

we had our first bradley class on friday. it went really well and i really liked the instructor. dh even really enjoyed it. looking forward to continuing. went to a local ICAN chapter meeting last night. it was pretty small (they're currently trying to rebuild the chapter), but it was so informative and the ladies were great. looking forward to next month's meeting.

dh and i went out on saturday night to dinner and a show. it's a tradition that for x-mas and for our combined birthdays (which are about a month apart), my in-laws give us tickets to a show, money for dinner and watch dd for the evening. had a lovely italian dinner and then went to see hair. i'm a huge hair fan, so i was pretty excited.

have a great week ladies!

Have a blissful time in Hawaii, Mamachef- can't wait to hear all about it!

We're on our way in terms of packing away holiday stuff. I've realized I just can't do it all in one day...(be it cleaning the house, packing things away, etc.) It's amazing- I don't get sore from a workout, but days which require lots of work around our home leave me feeling spent.

How's everyone feeling? Finally getting some great kicks after weeks of feeling dull movement (anterior placenta.) Can't believe my third trimester is just around the bend!!

yay to reaching 20 weeks evergreen! it feels good to finally be *catching up* to everyone :)

AFM... i finally had my anatomy scan today.... everything looks good and it's a GIRL! i am really excited for dd to have a sister. i always wanted one growing up but i was blessed with two younger brothers instead. she is measuring exact to my dates and she was kicking up a storm during the scan. it was crazy watching her and not feeling the kicks but the angle she was getting me i couldn't feel. occasionally i could feel her little butt pushing out on the other side. i can't wait until she's a little bigger so i can figure out how she's positioned!

the only downside to my appointment today was that they had switched everything around. i knew i would be nervous for the US since i had several bad ones in the past year so i specifically requested to see the tech who i know has been there forever. however, when i was called back i ended up with the new girl in the side room so i had to turn my head the whole time to see the screen. it all turned out fine since she was super friendly and explained everything she was looking at on the screen. the more she talked, the more comfortable i felt because i'm sure she couldn't keep up the bubbly act if things looked weird to her. then, instead of seeing the mw, my appointment had been switched to the head ob who is very nice but he immediately started telling us how much harder girls were and blah, blah, blah... i thought it was a weird conversation to have with people who were obviously excited to be having a second girl! my appointment next month is with a mw again and i'm going to make sure i'm really scheduled to see her before i show up there!

Hi there, I'm 24 weeks on Thursday and just thought I would stop by and say hello. We had our 20 week ultrasound at exactly 20 weeks and everything looks good. I am so happy about it. We aren't finding out the gender either, which is fun but kind of scary. It makes it harder to prepare that's for sure. So far I have some boy and girl hand-me-downs so whichever we end up having, at least we will be able to dress him or her until the baby shower. We've asked that the baby shower be after the birth, because I want my baby to be there for their own birthday party. :)

Lately I've really been feeling like setting up the nursery! Maybe I am starting to get the nesting feeling a little? I don't know. I just really want a place to put all of the baby stuff that is slowly creeping into the house. I've wanted to clean out all of our storage areas of junk too, which is important. When the baby comes there won't be room for all that stuff! I have boxes of misc. junk that I need to go through and it's going to be a big job. I hope to just do one box at a time, but procrastinating seems to be my strength these days!

I feel the baby kick all the time now. It feels so good to finally feel this!

Hi all!

I'm excited to be 24 weeks along (yesterday) and having my anatomy scan tomorrow. I'm bummed that I got home from work yesterday and immediately started with cold symptoms. Sleep was miserable and this morning DH is shaking with a fever. We've never had so much illness! What's the deal? This is my 5th virus in 2 months!

We were planning a nice weekend getaway in Wisconsin after the scan tomorow. Now I don't know. Maybe we'll hang around here another day and see if we want to go on Friday.

Today I wanted to go through the basement and storage and get some toys donated so we have room to move other stuff into storage. I'm big into decluttering right now. The funny thing is that the kids went through their toys last night looking for things they can donate and the boys basically just picked all of my daughter's stuff! They said, "She said we could!" Well she's not even 2 and doesn't know what they mean!

I've been counting down to the third trimester too. Two weeks 6 days to go. Starts at 27 weeks, right? I know some say 27, some say 28.

counting down to third trimester already... yikes!!! i'm due at the end of the month so it's still a long way off for me, but the fact that members of the DDC are approaching these milestones makes it seem like it's happening a lot faster! i think may may be a very long month for me. at least i'll have a lot of fun birth stories to read :)

Oooo, when does the 3rd tri start? I am due 5/6, so 3 months prior to that would be 2/6. That means, I have 3.5 weeks to go! Wow, it's kinda crazy when you think about it like that...

ew... the nasty head cold ran through my house last week. in fact, it's been a real pain in the a** lingering here even over a week later. my husband had/has it the worst... one day he'll seem better and then he's a mess again. he actually just walked in the door because he left early to take a nap. (must be nice!)

anyway, i really hope you feel better soon... oh, and the neti pot really saved me at night when i got really congested :)

hello :)

we have to go back for another u/s as the baby was SUPER STUBBORN and would not move despite the u/s tech's extremely persistent jabbing of my stomach (ow!)

...she ( :D :D :D ) is breech with her legs pretty much straight up next to her head! what an uncomfortable looking spot. so her head and feet are up at my belly button. what a little wacko.

so yeah ... one more u/s to check on some stuff they couldn't see :p

ryleee - it's amazing what positions these little ones can contort themselves into!

All w/ colds - a mean cold ran it's way through our household last week, too - salt water up the nose did wonders for me.

Had an eventful week - transferred to a CNM for a homebirth after my 20 week ultrasound ("everything looks great" said the tech). Had an appointment with her Tuesday after she'd received all my records from the OBGYN and she said the tech and the doctor who reviewed the ultrasound pics indicated the baby had a club foot (she showed me the notes). They hadn't said anything to me or contacted me - and the ultrasound was a month ago... Midwife set us up with a level two ultrasound with a perinatologist in the big city for Friday (today). After googling obsessively, we started hoping for a club foot (correctable and really in the scheme of things not much of a big deal - Mia Hamm was born with a club foot!), as in a high percentage of cases, club foot is associated with other anomalies - which is what we were really worried about. Had the level 2 this morning and all is fine! Feet look great, everything grand. He's measuring a bit big, and has hair already, but we are mightily relieved to have fallen into the 20% false positive group. As a reaction to the stress I now feel I could sleep straight through the weekend...

congrats on the little girl, ryleeee! I had to go back for a second look, too, they couldn't get all the shots they needed on the first try. Thankfully, baby cooperated the second time around - hope that's the case for you, too! :)
