hi! wow, I can't believe my baby will be 5 months! he was born february 20th, btw, he was a march baby but was 3 weeks early.
Right now he is 20 lbs (has been for almost 2 weeks now, he gained a lot until now, I think he finally reached the peak weight-wise) and height, 30 inches.
anywaym he is doing SO MANY things lately. He can get up in the crawling position when put in his tummy, but he will fall right on his face! he LOVES to spit, when I do it, he does it too, I swear he knows that I am playing with him!
He is sleeping great (co-sleeping) and the only thing that we need to work on, is that when he's nursing, he's latch-on, latch-off, latch-on, latch-off, but I think it may be a phase? he gets distracted so easily, too.
No solids yet and not planning on starting until problably closer to 9-12 months. he's not interested at all, actually.

and that's about it! just enjoying the sunshine, and taking him out for a lot of walks in the park!

Hi!

Well, last July 4th, DH and I found out we were pregnant with DS!

LMB, ds does the same latch on latch off, especially if I'm talking to someone or if there is something interesting for him to look at on the couch. The best is when he just looks up at me and smiles.

He's got to be 20lbs and I measured him at 26 inches yesterday. He's really trying to roll over and crawl. He never liked tummy time before, but he's liking it now, moving all over the place!

He's interested in whatever I"m eating or drinking. I'll give him a piece of canteloupe to suck on if he's having a bad day of teething. He loves it. I tried a little sweet potato, too and he didn't spit it back out so that's good. But, I'm going to wait until we can get him a high chair (probably next month) to start solids. I can't imagine trying to hold him and feed him, it would probably all end up in his ear.

And man does he have a voice. He talks up a storm and does this shrieking thing, very funny. He is the best! I'm so blessed to have such a happy baby.

We love co sleeping, but dh and I wanted to have a little time to ourselves last night so we put him in his bassinet (haven't done that in months) and he slept until 5:30am! Then it's right back in bed with us for the rest of the morning. Our kitty was in the bassinet when we woke up!

I really need to measure Aidan again. He was 27 inches and 21 pounds 12 ounces at his 4 month checkup. He's starting to "slim" down though, so I'm wondering how tall he's getting. He had grown 2 inches in a month, do you think babies hurt from growing pains like bigger kids do?

Hi!
DD is 4.5 mos old. She is 13.5 lbs and 25ish inches. (shes wiggly!) I couldnt get in to the doc until 7-15, so it'll be a 5 mo visit. I measure her at home for her baby book though.

She is rolling over both ways, loving tummy time, and has just found her toes and discovered her tongue. She made a slight raspberry at me yesterday, it was hilarious to see how surprised she was at it. She also has a very breathy little chuckle that I have heard a few times now. Its so exciting for me to watch all her changes.

I am getting some pressure from my mom and others to feed her, but I am holding off until 6 mos. Its tempting, because I want to see her reaction, but I think its better to wait.

4mos pix

When she isnt growth spurting, she sleeps fairly well. Either a 7-8 hr stretch or two 4-5 hour ones with a 2 hour playtime at 3 am
Bfing is going wonderfully. She stopped all the massive urping (fountains of urp, several times a day) and I cut back on dairy (for both our sakes) and so things are pretty good.

Except of course for today, when we went shopping and she missed her afternoon nap and was a demon until she conked out at 10 pm...
: The thing is, she HATES the carseat and screams bloody murder in it. So, when I have to go out, I try to make the most of it, so we dont have to go very often. But it usually means a few stops. At least she calms down when I take her out of the seat and sling her while we do our errands. Its really rough on both of us. i am hoping she grows out of this soon.

I didnt know just how much love I would have in my heart once I had a child. Its really amazing.

Hi

We barely survived camping last weekend--growth spurt, constant nursing, anthony got hurt every other second, and it was cold so no swimming.

Dominic is doing so well--he is growing so quickly and is such a social creature
He just talks to anyone and flirts w/ anything. I don't remember the next dr. visit, but he is getting so heavy and is outgrowing his clothes again.

I have been super busy getting my soaker biz off the ground. In the process of getting testers into the mail right now.

Have a good 4th!

Alyssa was 12 lbs 4 oz on Monday when I weighed her and I'd guess about 25 inches. She still hates being on her tummy. She loves to stand and she was sitting up really well in the boppy today. We are taking her out on our pontoon boat for the first time this weekend. I'm wondering how that will go. I've heard babies usually just get lulled to sleep on the water. We'll see. Not starting solids until 6 months at least, she still seems pretty uninterested in what I'm eating. She is still nursing a lot at night, hopefully one of these days we can go more than 3 hours in a stretch. I can't believe how fast she's growing though.

Eli will be 6 months tomorrow. Hard to believe that half a year has passed
He isn't too into sitting but man alive, put him on the floor and he slither/crawls all over the place. He really wants to move

My dh has the next two weeks off and we might go camping but with teething and this pre-crawling bit, that might not be too much fun. All he wants to do is practice crawl and then nurse
: repeat

Lindsey turned 5 months on July 2nd. OMGosh, how she is growing so fast. She has kept all her dark hair, and beautiful curls. I wish I could get my DH to fix my Adobe Photo Works so that I can post on babiesonline so that can everyone can see.

Today she fell off the bed!! It was so sad!!
But she cried for all of 2 seconds, nursed and then was smiling as usual. She is sitting here on my lap now playing with my fingers as I type. The bed was very low to the ground so it wasn't a big fall, and there was carpet. I didn't realize she was getting so mobile so fast.
She is growing way to fast. I will be taking her in next month to get her professional pictures done. I can't wait. She is trying so hard to sit up. She hates laying down. I was visiting my mom's church this past Sunday, and one of my friend's there had her baby there (born 2 weeks before Lindsey), and this baby was all over!!! Crawling, sitting herself up. I was amazed. Heck, Lindsey could be doing the same in the next few weeks, and my helpless baby won't be so helpless anymore. Even though she is my 6th child, it's so sad to watch them grow up. Ok, I have to go cry now...

Isaac is 5 months today!!! I can hardly believe that it was a year ago and we were just talking about the growing baby inside...what a difference a year makes. He is trying to sit up and wants to eat everything I do and wants to drink from a cup. We give him water from a cup because he loves it so much. We tried rice cereal....no luck...but oatmeal works great for him.

well, he is almost 26 inches so we will be switching carseats...i am going to miss carring him in with the infant carseat...ours only goes up to 26 inches.

We got our new seat today.
Life will change drastically without that infant seat.

Bryce is 27 incehs and our seat only goes to 26 inches.

He has started "Crawling" He lays on his back and pushes backwards and goes to where he wants. It is so funny to watch.

Hmmm. I knew that the car seat had a weight limit (22 pounds, and he is now 21) but hadn't thought about length- better look into that. It really won't change a thing for me (Other than the cost of buying another car seat), b/c I have only taken him out of the car in the seat once- it is wedged between the other 2 car seats, and I usually just put him right into the sling--- I never realized how much easier life is without lugging that huge heavy seat around- which I often did with the first 2.

Sean had a clear runny nose yesterday, and has been cranky since Sunday
. He is nursing almost all night long (once or occasionally twice is normal for him). What do you all think? Teething? (I don't feel anything and he's not biting) A cold/sore throat? Ear infection? I took a bunch of Zinc, Echinacea (sp?) and vit. C last night, one thing I love
about BFing, no need to worry about giving the baby stuff like that, but he still "gets" it, yk?

He will be 6 months on the 23rd, we will have to start solids soon I think- he has been wanting it for a while
. Thoughts on good sources of Iron other than cereal? I tend to be anemic myself, so I don't trust that he'll have enough from BM, though I am trying to up mine as well.

My first DS just potty-trained the past 2 weeks, so now I have so many less diapers to wash
. Although with Sean nursing all night- he is wetting through his fuzzibunz, mostly b/c he sleep on his side
. I guess we'll have to just deal with going back to nighttime changes.

BTW- I am sooo in love with my mayawrap now, and so is Sean. I should become a distibutor- EVERYWHERE I go people ask me where I got it. (Not a lot of slingin' people around here, and those who do -LLL- use OTSBHs.

Off I go...hope everyone else is well, seems not many of us check in here anymore....

Hi! I'm new to MDC and have a son, Atticus, who was born in February, so I'm joining this thread.

Our most recent excitement is the new car seat, new high chair and the glorious wonderful laughing! I absolutely love the laughing! I end up giving him lots of zerbets on his stomach in hopes of hearing the laughing.

I'm looking forward to next month and starting solids - think we're going to start with banana and then avacado.

We've also recently starting signing with Atticus - mainly "cat" since that's a word we use a lot with four maine ***** always around.

Hi all!
Our babes are growing so fast!! Sadie and Ella are 6 months (last Monday) and are sitting up and starting to move around lots - mainly the backwards crawl thing and the turn around in a circle thing. Sadie has 2 teeth (!!) and Ella is working on hers ( I can see them through her gums). They're still both napping in the slings and I'm trying to transition them to sleeping on the bed...not working yet though

We have our high chairs out but haven't started solids yet. The girls like to join us at the table for meals but are happy to play with spoons when they do. My ped was pushing cereal on us at out last appt and I got so flustered and couldn't think of all my reasons why we're skipping cereal

Hey ladies-

Yesterday Zane sat and balanced all by himself and I started crying
I just don't want him to grow!! Actually, I guess I just want him to stay little longer.

I've already turned my car seat around to face front... do you think it's ok? He's a bit more than 20 pounds and he hates the car unless he can see me. What do you guys think?

He's also laughing at me when I eat now. He'll stare and be so fascinated as I shovel the food into my mouth and then when I chew and swallow he starts to crack up! I love it!

I was told to keep the car-seat rear facing as long as possible and bought a convertible car seat for that reason when she outgrew hers. Anyhow thats what I understood and it is much safer, I called and asked a car seat safety specialist as my dh outgrew her car seat so young, and she told me it was important to keep her rear facing as long as possible (this one is up to 33 lbs rear facing, I got a Britax Marathon).

Anyhow hope this helps.

Dd and 2 yr old Ds just love each other to pieces. Ds is still biting her but he's got his last molar coming in so hopefully when then pain stops, he will. He doesn't do it often and not hard but it still scares the heck out of me. Dd has her two bottom teeth. She also doing the round in circles bit and is sitting up just fine. No rolling over though really. *shrug* She is such a serious little girl but ds just makes her laugh all the time. And she loves to zerbert. She's too cute. I love my kiddos. We ahven't really started solids yet (dh let her have a sip of apple juice once). We will soon as we keep talking about it. No cereals though. Probably will start her on mushed veggies off our plates.

As for the car seat...we bought the Britax Wizard. Love that thing. It is so safe. Answer to the carseat question. Per US and Canada standards, kids need to be rear facing for 26 lbs or 1 year, whichever is later. Reason for this is kids under a year (under two really) don't have the head control in case of an accident and it can cause them severe whiplash...or worse. I recommend getting those big mirrors that the kiddo can look through and see you through the rear view mirror (and you can see baby). It is best for baby...but can completely understand the screaming baby thing.

Must go. Nursing and bedtime... I love nursing!!!
