Happy new year, and welcome to January! Whether you're exercising to maintain or lose weight, to avoid watching too much TV, to spend more time with your children/family and friends, to get out and enjoy the colder weather (or go inside to escape the colder weather), or for other health reasons like to ease back pain, I hope you join me in exercising.

For those who need ideas:
Walking
Bicycling
Riding an exercise bike
Jogging or running
Swimming if you can find a heated pool
Lifting weights
Stretching
Parking further away, taking the stairs
Playing soccer/kicking a ball
I'm sure you could think of more.

Be careful, enjoy yourself, and have a great time - and you don't have to limit yourself to 1,000 minutes. Feel free to set your goal lower to fit your and your family's needs (or to accommodate pain), or to set your goal higher if you think you have that much time and the ability to exercise despite the cold.

Hey y'all!
Haven't been here in a long time. I've been starting challenges and given up half way.
But hopefully this time is the one.

I've been sugar-free for about 10 days (yes, before Christmas!!) because I gained about 25lbs in the last 6 months... And I've been having dizzy spells as well... Nothing nice that's for sure... I've started exercising again (after a very hot summer, a lot of bad lucks and a cab hitting me while I was on my bike), waking up to work out before going to work. I've been running with the dog, doing the 30 day shred, and yoga.

1/1 70 (30 yoga + 40 bike) I'm going to count my bike riding for now, but not next month

1/1/15 watered the plants, 5 minutes of walking + 1 30 minute mile walked + 1 35 minute mile walked including short walk to neighbor's and back + kicked soccer ball around my house 5 times, at least 1 mile, for 35 minutes + walked following my daughter kicking the soccer ball for 5 minutes + 5 minutes of stretching = 115

1/2 1 35 minute mile (also watered the plants and checked the mail) + picked up sticks for an hour + stretched = 100
1/3 1 35 minute mile (also checked the mail, and I was slow, tired and a little sore) + 1 25 minute mile when I was feeling better + 1 35 minute mile, partly with my daughter + 20 minutes of picking up sticks and weeding at sunset + 5 minutes of stretching = 115
100 + 115 = 215
115 + 215 = 330/2,000 Yippee, I'm off to a strong start :)

1/4 1 40 minute mile (also watered plants; I walked slowly because my stomach was upset) + 1 25 minute mile + 1/2 mile in 15 minutes right after the sun went down + 5 minutes of stretching = 85
330 + 85 = 415/2,000

1/5 1 25 minute mile walked + 1 30 minute mile walked + 1 mile plus yard work before dark, 50 minutes + 5 minutes of stretching = 110
415 + 110 = 525/2,000
