I just got my CD and registration confirmation for the santa fe BFW workshop! I'm so excited. Is anyone else going?

That's wonderful. I went to the BFW workshop at The Farm, April '08. It was a blast to meet Pam England, Britta and Virginia, especially Ina May and Pamela Hunt!
You will have so much fun and it will change your life. It will be a sisterhood you will never forget.
The big struggle that I'm having right now is that I'm so excited about my decision to do this that I think I started reading too quickly. If that makes sense. So like I read through the book, but I didn't really take enough time to do all the exercises and really think about all the questions. I know that I need to go back through and read it again. I guess the good thing is that I realized this now (well, actually a couple of weeks ago). I had decided I could go ahead and start the reading list even if I wasn't enrolled... and the book I picked to read second was Tich Naht Hahn's Miracle of Mindfulness. And I'm glad I did because in the middle of the second chapter, I realized that I needed to be reading these materials more mindfully.

So when I got the CD tonight... I thought I was just going to be able to sit down and listen to it... but then I had to stop myself and say, "no i'm going to listen to it mindfully." i'm guess i'm learning how to "smell the roses." and i think that's a good thing.

It sounds like you are already underway! I believe that is all part of the process--what you are describing. I took my level one training in August. I was told it would be great, but I had no idea how much it impacted me. I'm just starting out now too. I waver between feeling incredibly excited and inspired and awed, and then terrified and overwhelemed. But again I know this is all part of the journey. Welcome and best wishes to you! There are a couple of other BFW mentors around here . . . I hope we can all share a bit more. I know it has been so helpful for me to hear from others, and the BFW forums (which you can access once you are enrolled in the program) seem to be picking up a little as well.
Oh... another question

Have any of you done the workshop with a nursling? DS will be 11 months old...and he's already eating quite a few solids, but still nurses quite a bit. The info I got said that the breaks come about every 1 1/2 hours... which sounds totally doable, especially since he'll have solids and we'll be bringing some extra milk. DH is coming along to take care of him while I'm in workshop, and we'll stay in the same hotel... I don't foresee any issues, but I'm wondering how it worked out for anyone else?

I just started a whole new thread about this question
. I'm hoping to attend the Portland workshop in February with a 7.5 mo and DH in tow. Any tips/experiences would be welcome!

I'm sure you can make this work, but I would say that breaks did not always happen at exact times. The schedule was relatively fluid. For example, breaks were not always at set times. So as long are your DHs are not too far away and they can be "flexible" it should work out.
I was looking at doing my level I with a nursling, and was told that I wouldn't be able to bring him in to any of the actual meetings, so I'd have had to bring a sitter who could meet me at each break etc... I guess it might be possible, but it could be pretty rough going.
As it turned out we ended up moving and I **** have not been able to start my training. I LOVE BFW though, and really really really really REALLY want to train/teach it...hopefully I'll be able to get back on track for that in the next year or two here! (DS is finally weaning, i'm not pg yet...sounds like the perfect time! Now if only I could afford to get to a conference!)
