My last 3 babies were 6, 7 and 8 days early. If I do the same this time D day will be 1 wk 1, 2 or 3 days from now. :)

Friday I need to go get my oldest's pictures taken so anytime after that I'm good with. Otherwise, I'll probably never get them taken and I'll have to take them myself. I've done that before, but I think JcPenny's does a much better job and I always use the coupons to get them cheap.

I have everything prepared for the baby except the playpen isn't set up. That needs to go next to our bed, but figured my husband can do that after the birth. It gives us more room to move around the room now and during labor.

My water broke around 11:30pm. My first contraction was at about 12:05am. I called the midwife and told her to come about 10 minutes ago. I hope it's not too early, but my husband is freaking out about having to deliver and threatening bringing me in to the hospital. My midwife has an hour drive.

So, I had my prenatal yoga class this morning and was such a wimp about it. I totally wanted to just fall down into the blankets and bolster we use as props. Goodness. My teacher is fabulous though and keeps me sane; she has a great sense of humor, too. My hip was loose and achy after class so I certainly did something to stretch and open up in spite of wanting to curl up in a ball and sleep. I hope I make it to a few more classes before labor b/c it is so good for me. I am looking for a Mama Baby class soon b/c I have really been reminded how much Yoga improves my life. I commit to it when I am preggo each time but want it to continue this year. Anyone else doing yoga?

Randomness- tonight while being inspired by you all to freeze meals, I chopped onions for vegan chili. well, my eyes totally watered and I had to leave the room they were burning so bad. this happened the other day while chopping shallots. before that, i have never had a problem. it was crazy intense. I turned on a fan, lit a match and a candle (though not sure that mattered) then chopped super fast. but i had to leave the room, again! i got them in a container in the fridge but totally teared up & felt that burning sensation. What in the world? Is this a pregnancy response or what?
I finally finished organizing all my birth supplies and getting everything else ready. It is such a relief.

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c359/teamawesome/hodgepodge/IMG_1432.jpg

I'm also, not so patiently, waiting for my GBS results and to see if I am still anemic. It's been a week since I took both test, and it is killing me.

Thanks for sharing the pic! You are so organized. How do you have everything separated...by stage of lbaor vs. postpartum or what? Just curious about how to best organize my own stuff, too. Have you had any luck with Floradix for the anemia? We use cast iron pans pretty much exclusively and that helps some with my iron, too I would guess. I am hoping you get good news on both fronts!

And, maybe make an enormous pot of chili to freeze... assuming I can find it appetizing long enough to add the ingredients.

It's been a tough few weeks for me. I've been feeling super anxious. It's gotten so bad that the whole house is on a countdown. DD said this morning... ok, 1 week and 2 days left. (until scheduled c-section). Lots of bleeding and spotting last week put us all on super alert. At this point just keeping my fingers crossed (and legs, frankly) that we'll make it another 9 days.

I just don't have the room in my abdomen to eat large amounts of food, regardless of how much I may like the meal. I am so excited about how much food I will want to devour post-partum! I am working on a pot of chili for tomorrow's lunch and then to freeze; thanks for the inspiration. I hope that your anxiety starts to dissipate as the days get closer and you feel more and more confident in your plans for this birth and postpartum then getting to nurse a newborn! I have my legs crossed with you, sista.

Huh, funny that you mention this, I am never ever bothered by onions but I had the same thing happen to me yesterday! Wasn't quite as intense but it did occur to me that it was strange, since I chop up tons of onions all the time.

I remember around my birthing time with DD that smells became incredibly vivid for me so maybe it's that starting up again. I couldn't stand the taste of the water in the hospital so I had my mother and sister bring me water from home (had to be in glass jars, LOL! plastic bothered me too). Other people's hairspray, deodorant etc drove me me up the wall for a good week or two before and after labor. On the upside, smelling the new baby was intensely pleasurable! Mmm, tiny baby heads!

I was actually taking Floradix and those regular (most people hate) iron pills. I was alternating between the two. The results showed that my iron had gone back up to 10.5 which made my midwife happy. We agreed for me to keep taking the iron, though. I usually only remember about 5 days a week, so, that should be good.

AS for my supplies.....

the two on the left are all birth supplies with the messier items in the tin container, so, no worries about getting it dirty.

the two in the middle are baby stuff with the one in the back being for immediately after birth (first outfit, hat, measuring tape, etc.) and the one in the front is the basket I am putting by my bed and the co-sleeper for those firs couple of days (diapers, gowns, hats, nursing pads, etc.)- so, i don't have to get up in the middle of the night for anything. I think you did something similar.

the two on the right are for me with the one in the back containing any immediate post partum lady things. Cold compresses, depends, stretchy undies, peri bottle, etc. This is also the basket that will go in my bathroom right by my toilet. The one in the front has all the things I will need during labor (hair ties, straws, tops, spare undies, pads, chapstick, rice sock for heating, etc.) With my last labor, my water broke first and I went through a lot of undies and pads just laboring. The little bag inside is what will go on my nightstand post partum, so, it also has some stuff for then, too.

Even though I will be at home, the least things I have to have my husband get for me the better. He is fantastic and all, but is amazing at knowing where nothing is. And not looking very well either. :) This way I have what I need on hand.

We married men with this in common, then! Fantastic in every other way...just practically incapable of finding items. Not the worst trait a husband could have, thankfully! I told my DH about you all saying this and we had a good laugh at the shared trials we suffer. haha! love.
Me too! (Yesterday!) All day today I sat around my house making a mental note of all that I need to get done before this baby shows up, its a bit overwhelming. I hope that the nesting instinct kicks in soon to help me get some stuff done. With my DS it didn't show up until I was in actual labor. I started doing dishes and Readying the house for the midwives until I couldn't stand up straight anymore. I hope it doesn't happen that way this time, Especially since we're delivering at the Birthing Center. I would really like to come home to a clean, neat and organized space since I'll more than likely not be able to do anything other than sleep and nurse.

I have a flexible part time job, so I'll be working up until I go into labor, but I had my last big event before the baby comes yesterday. It was a crazy day but I am so glad it's over, and feel like I can finally shift gears and feel ready and excited for this little guy to come! I still have a few small things I would like to get done, but that event for work was the last big thing i wanted to get through.

I'm 39 weeks today. My DS was born at 43 weeks. So I know I may have a bit longer. No practice labor, no impendng labor signs. However, I've just reached that point where I feel so done.

I have so much cleaning and organizing to do though. I was working full time and couldn't do it then. Now that I'm on leave all I wanna do is lounge around and actually soak up what little time I have as a mom to one and actually focus more completely on the little one inside thats has yet to arrive. I almost feel like this baby won't come until I get everything in order, silly huh?

With all these new babes arriving though, I also am getting really excited about labor and our family expanding.

How are you ladies feeling/coping?

Well, I'm kind of glad to hear I'm not the only 39 weeker who has absolutely no signs of labor... :) The past few days I've had a bit more energy than before, which could be a good thing. I haven't gone overboard and started washing the windows or anything... (although they could really use it!) But I do feel pretty good! :)
