Hi all, I am posting for my sis who recently had twin boys June 20 (via c-sec at 33 wks) - they are thriving and breastfeeding like champs and came home from the hospital after only 3 wks (originally thought they would be in the hospital till their due date mid-august). One of the boys is still looking very jaundiced - she has been giving them both indirect sunlight through windows a few times a day. Is there anything else she can do? She is calling the dr. monday - and wants to avoid taking him back to the hospital. Any advice from the dr. that she should definitely avoid?
tia!

If they were given the Hep B shot, it could be an adverse reaction and sign of liver failure.

Either way, keep breastfeeding while sitting in the sun.

Or it could just be that he's a preemie with an immature liver. No need to freak out a new mama about liver failure at this point. Especially without any supporting documentation.
