I breathed an actual sigh of relief. I can't imagine what her family has been through; this story really grabbed me.

I can't imagine what she's feeling. She didn't know she was going to be released until right before it happened. I am so thankful she is safe!
I am so relieved for this woman and for her family.
We subscribe to the Monitor newspaper and I have been following the story with great trepidation. I was so afraid that it would end in greater tragedy.

Not only was she released, but it is good news that she doesn't appear to have been treated terribly badly (except for being kidnapped that is). Her poor interpreter, though.

Oh wow..that is great news!!
I saw that on the news this evening. Fantastic!!
So happy, and hoping that this means more hostage releases will soon follow.
If you're in need for some goosebumps check out this video of Carroll and her family at the CSMonitor's office yesterday:

Also, a very moving salute to Allan Enwiya, the Monitor's translator that was killed duing Carroll's kidnapping:

Helping Jill interpret Iraq

"Allan Enwiya was one of at least 86 journalists and media assistants who have been killed in Iraq since the beginning of the war, according to the international organization Reporters Without Borders. Twenty-six of those were like Mr. Enwiya, the assistants doing one of the most dangerous and important jobs for news organizations covering Iraq."
