In lieu of Changed bringing up trampoline as exercise....

I thought I would start a new exercise thread for the month

Not that I exercise I whole lot, but I do run around chasing my now mobile 1 y/o... gotta count for something

AND I do prenatal yoga about 5 times a week. I would be doing my exercise videos (* note they aren't "prenatal" exercise videos but I have been doing them on and off for a few years and know when enough is enough...) but DH WILL NOT set up our PS3 so we can watch videos.

GL on exercise this month ladies

I've REALLY gotta start doing something!!!!

I'm seriously out of shape. I tried to do basic yoga and my legs hurt soo bad during some of the stretches.

And I'm ignoring my exercise ball Poor thing's just sitting under my table not getting used. I COULD be sitting on it now instead of in the comfy desk chair, but no!! :p

And I TRY to remember to do my kegels, squats, and tailor sitting, but do you have any idea how hard it is to remember to do that while chasing a 2 year old around everywhere all day?? lmao

Okay, so I'm just making exuses, but I need to find some type of motivation to get my lazy bum into gear :p

I got a prenatal yoga video I need to remember to start doing.
Still swimming 3 or so times a week-it feels so good especially since it's disgustingly hot out here (the pool's indoors at my gym)
and walking every day, at least a mile.
I need to get better at doing some of those "pregnancy" stretches you see in books and see if it helps my poor hips at all; they're so sore.

Ditto on the hips. I went to the chiro for the first time this pregnancy and it really helped, but made me a lot more aware of my aches and pains in sacrum and hips too. I need to figure out the best stretches for all of this, and soon!

I got back on the treadmill last night after the smoke has cleared up considerably in this area. I'm hoping that with tonight and tomorrow morning too I'll have some more endurance for walks on our vacation at a higher elevation. If there is smoke there too, though, I'm sure the asthma/unhealthy conditions will outweigh the need to exercise.

Yes, I too need to be a lot more regular about this and also start getting out more with the girls to go on walks.

I need to really get into gear too. Dh and I have been walking 5 nights/week but 3 of those are usually lumped together on the weekends. And starting soon he will start having class 4 nights a week, which means no walking the dog for me. She is big (75 lbs) and could easily pull me over with my protruding tummy and I would feel SOO horrible leaving her in her kennel at home while I walk. That's just not fair!

So I need to get into the habit of doing my prental yoga DVDs and sitting on my ball, streching, etc.

Although I also need a RRL tea daily reminder- I haven't had any in ages!

Monday I taught a weight training class over the lunch hour and then did a cardio class that evening since I really need it and enjoy the instructor.

Tuesday I taught a step class.

Today I have a weight training class over the lunch hour again and I'm planning to get another hour of cardio in either in a class at the gym or in my workout area with one of my step DVD's.

Tomorrow I'll be doing the cardio class I love at the gym and Friday I'll probably workout at home with a couple of my DVD's (weight training and cardio....I LOVE Cathe Freidrich!).

I generally don't do anything on the weekends as far as workouts go because we're just too busy with other things right now.

TaraRae82 - Good for you! you remind me of a friend who worked out all throughout her pregnancy and taught classes - she went into labor while teaching a step class!

I really need to do more regular exercise NOW because in about a month, if this pregnancy is like my others, I'm going to be nauseas and exhausted all over again and will give up on any exercise.

As for now, I walk the dog twice a day while pushing the 2 boys in a stroller - does that count? because it wears me out!

I've been doing squats and other butt and leg exercises with my ball, but probably no more than 3x a week.

At the pool in the mornings I try to do some leg exercises in the water using the water as resistance. I really have to do a lot in order to really feel like I'm getting anything out of it. But my 2 yr old now wants to jump in again and again and again, so I can't really sit still anymore...

And once a week I jumprope and do a workout with a friend using a medicine ball and then we hit the punching bag for several rounds.

A friend who is a newly certified personal trainer came up with a circuit workout that I haven't fully done because I don't have all the equioment. It has a good balance of cardio and resistance training along with stretching - which I really need to do more often because I am sooo sore all the time.

I was doing better for awhile in this department, but I've been slacking again. The weather is so hot and humid that it drags my already tired self down even more. We did go for a half hour walk as a family after dinner today though so that was nice. Although I would have gotten more exercise at work if I hadn't gotten sent home because that had too many people scheduled. I have two days (officially) off and I'd like to make sure I get some good cardio in on both days as well as work on some toning. I need to keep coming here to stay motivated!

I ended up doing a step class tonight at the gym. I was glad it ended up being an easier instructor because I had several BH's during and had to slow down a lot. I wasn't drinking enough water though because I get too caught up in the class which I'm sure didn't help. They went away when I slowed down and got water.

I think I'm getting up in the morning (if I sleep well tonight) to take a step class at another club where I teach at 8am. The class I normally take on Thurs nights I can't go to tomorrow since our Bradley classes start (forgot!). If I don't sleep well, I'll just work out at home with a DVD.

Well, although I generally don't do many conventional exercise, I do a lot of noncoventional exercise And today I unpacked more than half of the stuff we got from movers. That is all the clothes, kitchen stuff, sorted through the clothes, loaded the dishwasher about 6 times so far today. It doesn't sound like much but I am pooped

Tomorrow I will be sorting the rest of the clothes (what we keep and what we are giving to charity) then separating all that and washing all of them! And hopefully get the rest of the things unpacked. Reinforce our shelves, get the books up on them as well and our picture frames up... Lots to do still...
