Come on in!!

Another week has come and gone. I can't believe some of us are almost halfway there. This pregnancy is flying.

I have my OB appointment this afternoon! This is my first time with an actual OB and not a NP. I hope I click with him and we get along. I mostly want to make sure he is able to manage my health problems and keep this baby safe. I know he is conservative medically and I really need that now. Anyways, I look forward to hearing little one again!

Even better news - I am feeling much better! I have had no bleeding in 6 days now and I think my meds are fighting the MRSA well as well. I have more energy, no pain, and just feeling so much better. Oh, and my belly is really popping out now. I am getting lots of comments on being pregnant which is a big deal to me since I am way overweight (100 lbs overweight) and I finally look pregnant and not just fat.

earthyamber - That's great news. I'm glad you're feeling better.

I'm starting to look and feel more pregnant now too. It seems like in the last week my belly has about doubled in size. This morning I was slowly waking up, laying on my side. I felt the baby do a flip. That was the most I've felt so far. Is anyone else feeling babe move a lot? I'm 16 weeks and I can feel little blurbs all the time. I'm positive it's not gas.

Finally feeling the baby here too. Like I've said before, I'd been questioning every little thing, but on Sunday I felt the bumps and thought, "Ha, that's it!" And after that I've felt lots of movement, usually right against my full bladder. My energy level is up and that has been such a relief. Today is dh's last day of school of the summer and tomorrow is ds's. It will be fun to have everybody home.....for a few days anyway.

Earthyamber - what a great update!!!!!!!

I have a cold that I hope I can kick soon! I leave for Canada on Thursday for a photography workshop, get back on Monday and then leave with the family for Destin, Florida for my sister in laws wedding. I'm hoping the drive isn't too bad!

My midwife had to cancel my appointment this past Saturday because she was at a birth so I'm hoping to get that rescheduled for tomorrow, I'm anxious to hear the heartbeat again

Tomorrow I'm also going in for a wax, especially before we head to the beach next week. It's definitely a bit more uncomfortable when you a pregnant with the extra blood flow going on, lol.

Today I have tons and tons to get done, hoping I can do all that and have time to watch Alice in Wonderland tonight.

I've got a bad cold, too! It started Friday, and yesterday and today it's had me totally wiped out. I feel absolutely useless, unable to even think about doing anything around the house. Thankfully, yesterday was my birthday, and hubby treated me by vaccuuming the floors, washing all the dishes and doing the laundry...not to mention taking me out to dinner. He has the day off again today, and he got the crock-pot going with a roast this morning...what a guy!

I'm at 17w5d now, and the belly is definitely growing by leaps and bounds. Otherwise, all the nasty first trimester symptoms are finally gone! Now I just wish I would really start feeling baby move and KNOW that's what it is. This morning after I woke up to use the bathroom, I came back to bed and laid on my back for a little while with my hands over my head, trying to stretch and relax. I felt a really strange sensation in my lower abdomen, not at all a bump or flutter. The only thing I could think of was that the baby was turning a somersault. It felt like a really big movement, but slow and smooth. But most of the time I still don't feel anything. My belly is also feeling alot harder than it has before, something I didn't really expect. I'm looking forward to my CNM appnt. on Thurs....I want to hear that heartbeat again and know that everything is on track, especially since I've been so sick this week.

Happy new week mamas!! I'll be 17w tomorrow...I can hardly believe it!

So glad to hear you're feeling better, Amber! What good news!

Well, we got back from a weekend of camping at the beach. We've gone with our friends every year for the past 4 years. It is so much fun but at the end of the weekend everyone is glad to be back home cleaning the sand out of everything. I just got our van vacuumed out- I think I need a nap now, LOL!

I'm so happy to be feeling better now. No more throwing up and only a little nausea in the mornings or when I don't eat. It is so nice to be feeling human again!

We have our anatomy scan this Friday and I am so excited to see this babe!!

17 weeks here...feeling pretty blah. 2 weeks until my ultrasound though and almost to the half way point so that's something. My uterus seems to have taken a growth spurt. When I last saw my midwife 2 weeks ago, it was right on target, all of a sudden, it's at my navel already. Really no hiding my bump now!

14 weeks (11/29 EDD past history shows that could mean anywhere from about the 20th to early Dec.--dd 9 days early, DS2 one week late)

Felt baby MOVE yesterday!

I will be in absolute and complete shock if this is NOT a girl, I just have way strong girl vibes and DS1 *INSISTS* he knows and it is a girl. And I feel different than I did with the boys. I don't really know if it's more like DD or just different.

In other news, it POURED down rain this morning, freakin' monsoon. So nobody can go outside, and DD just had a *major* meltdown...because I refused to give her "her own" 12 ounce can of Vimto (an Arabic brand of fruit-flavored soda, DH bought it cause we had guests this weekend. He always overbuys, we have a bunch left.)
I eventually gave in and figure I will finish it off later, it turned into an all-out sibling war.
And it's DH's first night back on the stupid 2nd shift which I hate. And the 18 mo. old is napping which means I will do just about anything to keep the older two quiet and peaceful so I can have a little time to myself......

I am officially in the second trimester! I've had a couple flutters that I am not quite sure about.

We had a really busy weekend, with company staying and then heading up to a family reunion and I am exhausted. Took a big nap today and have to go back to work tomorrow.

I need to schedule my next appointment but we are still in the process of switching over to my husband's insurance. Luckily I found out that my insurance will cover us for all of June not just until my last day at my current job.

ETA:

i am so glad its JUNE! we only have a few weeks of school (ds does i mean) and by the end of the month we will have our house done (it had better be!) and we will be living there! and summer! i love summer. i am so So looking forward to hanging out on the beach in the hot sun.. right now its rain..rain..rain. but i suppose its not all bad. the garden is growing so well. we ate another huge yummy salad last night and today from our plot.

I spent the morning at a friends house gardening. there is a small group of us that rotate around to each others houses and help do weeding and planting or whatever needs to be done. its so nice visiting with good friends and our little ones always have a great time. it was raining most of the time, but all of us had rain gear, so we stayed pretty dry. then we shared a potluck lunch. after that i went to my new house and painted more.. dp is laying laminate wood flooring (which looks amazing !!) in ds's room then his is done save for the new window which will come this weekend. it feels so good to get it all done, but man..its hard work! my girls room is finished except for baseboard trim and a new window in there..then onto our bedroom which is the smallest in the house, so it should be quick and easy.. paint & flooring and windows.. *sigh*

im home from picking my boy up from school but now we are off back up to the other house to get more done. have i mentioned that im exhausted?
but happy..which is more important right?

I'll be 15 weeks in two days and MAN I'm tired. I do mostly okay through the day, but I go to bed with DS every night at about 7pm and STAY there until morning. I'm on thyroid meds (I'm hypothyroid and my wonderful doc is having me tested every four weeks) and my iron levels are fine (though I'm still taking Floradix) so I guess it's just me.

Last pregnancy I was nannying for a little girl who took naps in the afternoon, and I napped when she did (the parents were/are good friends and didn't mind). This time around I can only nap on the weekends. I mostly feel bad for my DH because I'm MIA from 7pm on every night.

At least I'm feeling better in general, though. I'm almost all caught up with my garden (everything's planted/transplanted) -- I just have to build trellises for some of the raised beds. *Just.*

Earthy Mama-so glad you told your boss and all is well! Now you can relax and not try to hide the unhideable

Ok I have a question...gonna try to make sense. Is it normal that my baby is almost always favoring my right side? Its especially apparent in the mornings, before I get out of bed. If I lay on my back and look down at my belly, there is a like a pile of baby on the right and the left is like flat in comparison! And when I touch the right side it just feels like..like the baby has bunched up all up in there. Has anyone experienced this? I dont remember this happening in any of my previous pregnancies..

avasmom and lemoncello - I hope you both get better soon! Being sick is terrible and being sick while pregnant is much worse. Get well soon!

birthdancedoula - I love camping! Sounds like you had a very fun and busy weekend!

Earthy Mama - Glad it went well with your boss!

New Mama - Sorry you are so tired. That is really rough. Thyroid issues are terrible, my mom has Graves disease. No fun. I hope you get some energy back soon and don't feel bad about napping and going to bed early. You deserve it.

So, I had even better news today and I am over the moon excited! I met the OB and he was awesome! He totally supports natural birth and said that my body makes big healthy babies and it can easily handle natural childbirth. He is very optimistic about my body and my health. He said I had bad luck (with MRSA) but he knows baby is great. He said the placenta isn't as bad as the tech said and said it was no concern. He said to avoid anything that triggers bleeding, but he isn't worried. He said the ultrasound and strong heartbeat on doppler shows baby is great. He said I have excellent blood pressure and in great health despite my issues and weight. He was very bubbly and so positive. He told me to trust my body and that even though things have been weird, it will all work out. He expects me to make it to 40 weeks and be able to have the birth I want. WooHoo!!! Oh, I lost 12 lbs this month but he thinks it is from the antibiotics so he isn't too concerned. He just doesn't want me to lose again this month. It was just a positive appointment that I really needed. I needed some sunshine in this pregnancy! Also - I saw my primary Dr and she said I am healing wonderfully and it looks like I won't need more antibiotics! She said the infection is nearly gone so I am ultra excited. Two wonderful appointments with great news!!!

Oh, and I get my big ultrasound on the 22nd. I can't wait!

16.3 wees, finally got it narrowed down Its weird, i flew through the first trimester without a twinge, no ms,no headaches, no over tiredness, and now that I am in my second tri, I feel like dog crap!!!!!!! My head pounds all day every day, the other day I was dehydrated and couldnt even hold down water, swollen, headache from the eternal pits of hell, I just dont understand it!!!!!!! I will sit down to check on something on the computer, wake up 3o minutes later with my head on the desk!!!!!!! Yep, every day, lol. Maybe Im just getting old, who knows. I have had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago, baby is measuring height is fine, head is fine , abdomen 2 weeks over, femur 2 weeks under, and weight is off the charts, lol. At 14.1 weeks, baby weighed 3 ounces, twice what it should. Im sure it will even out in the long run. The extremely short femurs have me a bit concerned, and I was almost convinced to do an amnio over it, since my angel baby Jacob did have downs, and he had the same femur problem. I still am not sure if i will do it yet. I dont like the thought of it, and have never had one, they scare the crap out of me!!!!!!! We think for right now it may be a boy, but it may of been the cord as well, at 14 weeks, with a transverse baby it is hard to tell. I do have a US scheduled for the 14th, to check on the overweight and the small femurs again. I am used to having one US the entire time, i am not used to this much attention. I know I could opt out, but my nerves and fears over Jacob dying simply wont let me....... Well, thats my life in a nut shell for the time being i regards to being pregnant. Have another major thing going on too....... I am moving into a 2 bedroom trailer with 4 boys and another on the way....... I think the baby and I will sleep in the living room. I cant afford the rent here, plus i am not allowed to have a washer and dryer, and laundry at the laundry mat is costing me $75 a month, if not more....... and washing it out in the tub is literally killing my back. I did do something naughty yesterday, yeah, after i sit here fussing over finances, I ordered a few tops and bottoms on clearance online for maternity clothes Means I will only be able to pay half the electric, but they can wait lol. I cant wait to get them!!!!!!!

It's nice to hear good news from everyone! I hope the sickies are feeling better soon.

Amber, that's awesome news about the OB and how well you are healing. You had such an awful first trimester! I hope the rest of your pregnancy is all sunshine and roses

AFM, well, I can admit it. I am DAMN sick of rain. It feels like it hasn't stopped since October and is never going to stop. We had almost 5 inches in May (the normal is 2.7 inches) and we are supposed to get another inch or more before this time tomorrow! Blech!

At least I finally got my tomatoes planted this morning before the rain started. I bought starts at the farmer's market on Mother's Day, and hadn't been able to get them in the ground. They'd obviously used up all the nutrients in the potting soil, either that or some got washed away with all the rain. They turned yellow over the past couple of days! I also managed to string up trellises for my pole beans. But it seems like I can only work an hour or so before just feeling worn out. DS and I took a 2-hour nap this afternoon!

I'll be 15 weeks on Thursday. Next mw appt is next Tuesday, and we'll schedule the anatomy scan then. Can't wait! I'm getting more and more eager to know the gender of this little being. Mostly because I keep coming across all these adorable baby knitting patterns....

We're getting there! I'm 16 weeks today. 3 weeks to my ultrasound!

Too many updates to reply to here, but it sounds like everybody is doing really well. I'm glad it's June (dd1's birthday is on Sunday - I can't believe she'll be 6!), but it was really crappy weather today. Like you, Karen, I'm sick of rain!!! Bring on the good weather!
