Am I alone here?? My 4.5 mo is a completely different kid every single day!! He eats less, stays awake longer, sleeps longer stretches at night (sometimes 5-6 hrs instead of the "usual" 2-3). He'd rather be rocked to sleep than nursed in most cases. We still bf exclusively and his poops have changed in consistancy and come less often (more like lumpy gravy than cottage cheese IYKWIM). He is SUCH a personality!! He'll change his mood quicker than he can flip onto his tummy! I feel like it all happened overnight! One day he was grabbing toys, the next my hair. I mean, he has literally been doing something new and different every single day for weeks now.
SLOW DOWN!! I'M NOT READY!!:LOL
I am certain that tommarow when I wake up he's gonna roll over and ask me for the car keys.
Is anyone else's baby going through this? Please tell me I'm not alone!

4.5 mos. here too (6/13). I can't believe what a big boy he's becoming--but he's always stayed awake longer stretches, and still nurses every 2-3 hours at night...hmm, infact, that's gotten "worse"! I have much better perspective with him being # 2, I'm resenting the lack of sleep less and enjoying him more.
The trick of the week at our house is sticking out his tongue and making gobs of spit bubbles. So cute.....

Oh yeah!!! Sometimes it feels like I am raising the human equivalent of the space shuttle-- he's just rocketing away now!

Zane (6/3) is just huge-- 18 1/2 lbs, and 27 inches, and nursing, nursing , nursing (never sleeps more than 2-3 hours at night before nursing, but I've gotten used to it)..... he's grabbing at food on our plates and mock "chewing" when watching us, but we're holding off until 6 months.

Physically, he's amazing us.... steam rolling all over the place, creeping and inching, and...in the last week-- he sat up unsupported and then the next day was on hands and knees rocking furiously back and forth. I can hardly keep up, and it's all happening so fast! I'm worried that crawling is right around the corner. He seems to be really "early" on some of the physcial milestones. Childproofing needs to happen around these parts FAST!

Zane has also found his "voice". It happens to be a very loud one! Lots of ahh-goo's, and nondescript vowel sounds at varying decibles. Lots of raspberries and bubble blowing, too. There seems to be a constant stream of drool down his chin and shirt.

Other changes we've noted-- he definitely prefers mommy. He used to be content no matter who held him, but now (and especially if he's tired) it ALL about me. (I'm not complaining-- I love the snuggles..) Bedtime has always been difficult for us, but it's so much better than the colicky nightmare that it was 2-3 months ago....

This age is just so fantastic.

Oh, and he is absolutely OBSESSED with the Kitty. He sees her and just goes crazy...depserate grabs, giggles, lots of "talking" to her. Luckily, kitty is equally intrigued, but manages to stay *just* out of reach. For now, anyway....

I know what you mean. Ryan is growing like crazy and changing fast. DH loves it, but sometimes I wonder where my baby is going. Then he will snuggle and rock to sleep with me and all is well. He has definitally found his toes, he loves holding them and trying to chew on them. Last week for the first time he seemed to really enjoy his bath with me. He never hated it before, but just didn't seem real thrilled. Last week he wanted me to hold him in the water on his belly so he could explore the water. Ryan also likes toys more now, before he really didn't need anything to do besides sit and have fun with us.

I hear you!! My ds is *OBSESSED* with the dog, who is trying to get over being jealous of all the attention given to the baby. His toes are constantly in his hands or mouth and he does this cute thing where he pulls both feet back to his head....which sure helps if I have to wipe his bum.

she is growing like a weed! Just this week she has started to

roll over

slitter toward a toy

reach out while on her belly and pull a toy toward her or spin around her spinning mirror toy

drink a sip of water of of the sippy cup

and she has started using her voice and has been imitating our intonation when we say "i love you"

she also started going 3 hours instead of 2 between nursings. and I am glad for the extra time, but I miss my tiny girl!

I guess they just grow up so fast after they hit the 4.5 mark, huh??
