Just thought I would start this up for the new week. To carry over a bit from last week, congrats on getting the autism waiver for you son, Goldie! And I'm also experiencing some diaper envy. I had been coveting some lilac pocket diapers when I still had thoughts of having a girl. Unfortunatlely, I don't sew at all, so I have to buy everything. I did get some from a friend, though. I found ds's old newborn covers and such, but haven't come across his small pocket diapers. They've got to be in the house somewhere.

No bra troubles for me. Still wearing the no-underwire stretchy cotton bras that I've been wearing since after ds was born. 32/34B all the way, with very slight variations. I used to wish to be just a bit bigger, but now I'm happy with the ease of having a consistent, easy to find size throughout pregnancy and nursing and such.

Dh sold the extra car finally, so now we don't have to worry about not being able to afford our vacation. We're leaving on the 15th to drive up to the Fingerlakes region of NY. We plan to camp for a couple of nights in Watkins Glen State Park, but haven't really made real plans or prepared yet. That's just how things tend to go with us.

Dh got me a new digital camera for my birthday and I'm loving the better quality of pictures. I wish I wasn't such an idiot when it comes to posting links to pictures. I'd like for everyone to see my beautiful boy and his big blue eyes...

Thanks for starting the thread this week, marie! Is it a new week already?!?!?

marie...Congrats on the new camera, vacation, and the fact that you have no-stress bra shopping. For us G/H-cup mamas things aren't quite that easy! :LOL (and I often wish I was smaller!!!)

So much to do this week! Dh spoke with my parents yesterday and they want us to sell the Jeep (which should be interesting since dh is only home on Sundays and Mondays) and we can use one of their vehicles between selling the Jeep and buying a van. I'm hoping we sell the Jeep soon...but am leaving it up to dh! He also needs to get rid of the two "dead" vehicles we have (one in our garage, the other in front of our house) ... he may be able to sell them for parts (we hope!) - he needs to work on that too!

I go to the dentist on Wednesday (I'm dreading it...getting dental work done, even a cleaning, is even worse than nails on a chalkboard for me!) and will hopefully find out how much the dentist is willing to do while I'm pregnant and what we can schedule soon after baby is born (my insurance ends 60 days after baby is born, so I need to get as much done as possible before then!). Please wish me luck!

Cloth diapers...I got an email from a friend of mine stating that she has tons of newborn diapers for me...yippee! They are all VERY girly diapers, and as she put it - if you have a girl she'll look so cute in the diapers and if you have a boy, well, no one will see them under a pair of pants! :LOL

Well, I need to stop procrastinating and get some work done...I have a million errands to run, a house to clean and birth projects to do (102 days until my due date and the kids want to make a count-down chain starting at 100 days!) before my kids go to bed so dh and I can actually spend some quality time together tonight (and order pizza, which I've been craving!!!).

Hi ladies! My OB appt is Wednesday, so I'm looking forward to that. I have been having LOTS of BH, and it has me a little worried since I experienced early labor last time (stopped with meds).

I'm also considering hiring a doula. Has anyone else used one? I'm planning a hospital birth and want to be more "in charge" of my experience than I felt the first time. $400 seems like a lot to spend when it will have to come out of our not-very-robust savings, but I think it might be worth it.

Have a great week, everybody!

Welcome to a new week! I know it is Tuesday, but better late than never right? Here is to the start of no school. Of course now that school is out the weather is supposed to be up in the 90's. That makes me very not happy. I don't want to go out in weather that hot. I get dehydrated too fast and I am sure that my kids would too.

Thankfully today my ds woke up at a normal time instead of getting me up at 5 am! I am not sure what we are going to do today, but convincing a 5 y/o that Ravioli isn't a good breakfast is tricky. Hehe!

I got a few more of the diapers I ordered yesterday, plus I got the PUL I needed to start making my own. Now I just need to get Aplix and elastic and I can start making diapers and covers. Dh told me yesterday that he is curious to see if I will actually be able to do this whole CD thing. I told him that as long as I have a washer I can. :LOL He did tell me that he would like for me to get one of those mini showers for washing off the poo. I'll agree to that. Does anyone have one of those? How do you like it?

Not too much to report today. I am hoping that by the end of the week I hear something saying that ds' therapy team has been set up, so that we can get the initial meeting out of the way and they can start coming up with a therapy plan for him. I want him to get as much therapy before this baby is born as possible. Now I just have to see if the Senior Center or someone else has a room that we can use for him to get these services. I just don't have the space in this tiny apartment.

Oh! I just remembered. How I could have forgotten I don't know, but this weekend dh and I ordered new furniture for the living room. So dh is happy about that. He is going to be buying a crow bar so that he can bust up the old sectional to get it down the stairs easier. We got it second hand and have definately gotten our money's worth out of it, but new furniture will be nice to have for when we do actually get into a house. Please God let that happen before this baby is born! Ok, I think that is caught up enough for now. I hope that you all are having a good week so far.

Anyone else have dr's appts this week?

momof1sofar...I've never used a doula (couldn't afford one!) but have heard GREAT things about them.

Goldie...Ravioli isn't good for breakfast? (Actually, I have allowed my children to eat ravioli, pizza, just about any leftovers for breakfast! ) Sending you ~*~*~*~home loan / new house~*~*~*~ vibes and congrats on the new furniture. I hope your dh has fun demolishing the old furniture! :LOL

I have extreme nausea in the mornings once again. I try to eat, but it's horrible. Why now???

I go to the dentist tomorrow and am completely not looking forward to it. It's the only dentist I could find in my area that's covered by my insurance, I've never heard of them, and have no idea how they feel about doing dental work on a pregnant woman. I'm hoping things work out, but my anxiety levels are through the roof! I haven't been to the dentist in years due to lack of insurance and my teeth are falling apart.

Oh the positive side, I get to go to my LLL meeting tomorrow...I haven't been in 4-5 months (since our vehicle died). It will be nice seeing my mama friends and meeting some "new" mamas!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Amanda, have fun at your LLL meeting tomorrow. It is nice to have transportation to get to places isn't it? I will get to actually go to an LLL meeting sometime... I think. Some of the mamas from LLL are also at a playgroup once a week that I will be able to take dd to once ds starts summer school. Yay! It will be nice to be able to relax with some adult conversation other my dh.

Guess I am off to run a few errands in some air conditioned environments. I love air conditioning when it is humid.

Feeling that first trimester fatigue for the past few days has been detrimental to the mental well being of those around me. Being tired makes me cranky & even more emotional than usual. I'm getting pissy over really dumb things lately. Anyone else experiencing this lovely side effect of pg??

My youngest is sick right now & my oldest likes to drive me nuts with pretending to listen but not really doing what he's asked. Typical 10 y.o. stuff.

marieangela, I wish I were able to find bras so easily! It can be frustrating looking for comfy ones that fit well. And congrats on the camera & upcoming vacation! You'll have to post some pics for us soon.

mom2threenurslings, good luck selling the Jeep & getting a van. What kind of van are you looking at? We currently only have an Intrepid & don't think it'll be big enough for two car seats & a squished 10 y.o. so we're looking at buying a Grand Caravan, or something like it, soon. I hate going to the dentist, too. At my last visit I was told they don't do anything unless you're in pain until you're in the 2nd trimester (even cleanings). I didn't ask about the third, though. Good luck with that! And YAY!!! on the diapers. Great friend! Have fun at your LLL meeting tomorrow.

momof1sofar, I've never hired a doula, but would love to if I could afford it. I have a friend who's a doula & really think her services would be invaluable. Good luck at your appt. tomorrow & be sure to update us on how it goes.

Goldiemom, I feel your pain with the heat. It's been really hot here & makes me cringe thinking about the hotter parts of this summer that are to come. What's going on with your ds that he needs therapy for, if you don't mind me asking? Hope it's nothing bad. That's great you got new furniture! I really want some too but I think we'll hold off for a while.

I'm looking forward to an upcoming visit to a chiro & maybe even a prenatal massage. Anyone ever had one before? I hear they're wonderful!

Hi Shannon! I don't mind you asking about my son. He has moderate/severe autism. So he will be receiving intensive behavioral, occupational, speech, and general therapies to teach him to deal with, and work around his disability. I am so pleased that we live were we do so that he can get the therapies paid for by the Government.

I am just going to love being pg this summer. I will be getting lots of use out of my air conditioning, and shorts and dresses. Can we tell that my online friends are my lifeline while waiting for summer school to start? I am sure that my post count will jump greatly in the next few weeks. Well, more later. Take care all!

Shannon...We're looking for any (used) van we can buy with the money we get selling the Jeep! We were planning on buying a van from $ I saved from my paychecks, but they eliminated my position shortly after I found out I was pg, so we no longer have my income. Hopefully dh will get his act together soon and get the Jeep listed in the classifieds/online so that we can start the whole process!

I'm completely with you on the fatigue thing! I feel like I'm back in the first trimester again, not only with fatigue but morning sickness as well. Ugh!

I hope your youngest feels better soon and your 10 year old, well, stops acting like a 10 year old for a while!

Air conditioning....my parents have central air - and they're going on two more vacations this summer (one short, one for a week), so you bet I'll be moving into their house when they're gone!

Goldie, I think it's great you're able to get him the help he needs where you are, too. My closest friend has a child with Aspergers & one of my nephews also has Aspergers. The friend of mine's ds is 12 now & with early, really intense therapy you can't really tell he has it. My oldest ds has been dx with ADHD since he was about 6 & since then I've been learning as much as I can about its link to autism & how it could've possibly been brought on by my being a "good mom" & vaxing him on the recommended schedule. There's so much good that's come of him being dx with this, though. I know his siblings will be better off because of it. I'm sure your ds is a huge blessing in your lives as well. I know you have a hard road ahead of you & just wanted to say I think it's wonderful that you're doing the most you can to help him learn how to deal with this.

Amanda, hopefully you guys will be able to find something that will be perfect for your growing family. Jeep's usually have a good resale value, so that's a bonus. It sucks that they let you go at your job, though. I know for some families it's not just helpful to have a 2nd income but essential. I worked until my ds was almost 7 out of necessity.

I hope your fatigue & nausea go away soon. The morning sickness is the WORST! I didn't have it this time around but had a bit of it with my last 2 pg's. I've heard that spraying some peppermint essential oil that's been diluted in some distilled water in your face will make the nausea subside. In fact I have some for my labor kit. A friend of mine is making & selling these EO kits for laboring moms & that's one of the things in it. It also helps with feeling tired.

We have central air in our house too. I can't imagine living without it here in the desert! I went through my pg with my oldest with only a window unit that didn't do a good job, so I know I'd be dying without it now. I'm much more spoiled now though. :LOL

I have a minishower and never use it. The water pressure isn't strong enough to wash off solid food poop. Maybe it would work for bf poop. I will see soon enough. We just hope for a solid poop so that it rolls off into the toilet. The occasional peanut-butter-texture poops... I wipe off as much as possible and then rinse in the sink. You don't have to do this at all as the washer can get out all the rest of the poop you didn't wipe, but I prefer to rinse the diapers and then have to wash the washer tub less.

Marie - I am so jealous. I am from Upstate NY now in AZ. I want to move back. Its just lovely up there. Have fun on your trip!

Galatea - Are you sure you have the water pressure turned up on your mini shower far enough? Because MIne is so strong I get back splash. Def strong enough to get off the nastiest poops. I have had it on 2 different types of toliets too, a really old one and a brand new one. Its not really great for bfpoops. Works, but there is really no reason to wash those down before sticking them in the washer.

I lost my only pretty bra this week. GOt all tangled in the tie to my dress and got streched out I wanted to cry. Its hard to fine nice bras in 40E. My hip on the left is completly out. I was just at the chiro on Thursday too. Funny thing though. Made more room for the baby so now I can pee easily again :LOL . I was having a problem with that. TRied to move the baby off my bladder, sit forward. All those tricks and nothing worked. Now I feel much better, of course my hip hurts though. My dd graduated from k tonight. It was so cute. And then I came home to a huge brown recluse spider in my garage! Who knew you could experience so many emotions in one evening! LOL

I know there are cheaper ways to get a doula. Do to www.dona.org and look for a doula in your area. When you call her, find out what her rates are, let her know about your financial situation. If she can't come down on the price (but most will) ask her if she knows any doulas in training that need births to go to. They're usually very cheap to free.

Thanks for the suggestion, that is a great idea! I contacted a local doula who charges $400. I'm sure she's worth it but after looking at our finances, we just can't spare it. I did mention that to her and she didn't offer to reduce her rates. So I'll take your suggestion and look for trainees. My OB might even know of one. Thanks again!

I've been debating on getting a minishower for a while now. Not sure if it's worth it. I always just did a quick rinse on cold with ds's newborn bf poo diapers before I washed them.

Anyway just thought I'd pop in and attempt to share a photo of my dog. Dh took ds and the dog to a State Park near us today and apparently the dog rolled around in a big muddy puddle. The video isn't working on my computer at work, but it skips on to the picture when you click on play. Can anyone see this?

http://www.kodakgallery.com/Slidesho...y=-jzqkvg&Ux=0

And if that happened to work, try this one, too.
http://www.kodakgallery.com/Slidesho...Uy=medyrf&Ux=0

Not the most flattering picture of me at that angle, but the whole rest of the family (minus the dog) makes it into these pictures.

Just thought I'd pop in and say I found some nice bras at Motherhood Maternity. I bought a 36E and a 38F sports/nursing bra (don't know why one style I fit into a 38F and the other a 36 E but anyhow!)

They are nice comfy bras.

Marie, the second link worked great and you guys look so cute, but the 1st link of the dog wouldn't work. It was "loading" forever.

I got 18 small fuzzi bunz for the new baby. The first thing I got for him! They are little and cute and I washed them already. I couldn't wait. I am also getting 4 wonderoos. If he is smaller than small fuzzi bunz then we are putting him in sposies for that first week or two b/c I couldn't justify the extra smalls for only a few weeks. Ds was 7 lbs 5 oz and I am expecting this one to be bigger, b/c they generally get bigger each time, right?

I feel like ass. I have had a headache for 3 days and now I have terrible heartburn.

Michelle - yeah, I have the water pressure turned up all the way. Maybe it is our home water pressure that sucks, or maybe ds just has some sticky poop, but the minishower will not get it off.

I second asking around to find a doula-in-training. One of the "new" moms in my natural parenting group is a doula in training and she's actively looking for births to attend for FREE!

marie...apparently my computer is downloading a virus software update, so I'll try to view the pics later. I have dial-up and it took 5 minutes for the top 1/4 of the first pic to load!

Galatea... I hope you feel better soon! I agree about the Fuzzibuns...I'd go with the bigger size. Then again, after having a 7 lb 2 oz first child, I went on to have a 9.5 lb second child and an 8 lb 4 oz third child! I have no idea how big this baby will be, but I'm thinking big!

Dentist.... : I got to the dentist today, filled out the paperwork, sat in the chair, dentist came in, started getting me ready for x-rays (absolutely necessary) and then apologized to me and said he needed to go home. He (very embarrased) said he'd had hemerrhoid (sp?) surgery that morning and the doctor told him he could go to work no problem...but he was in tons of pain and needed to go home. So I'm going back in a week. I was hoping to have the torture over with and some sort of plan in place to get all the work done that I need. I do feel sorry for the dentist, though...and his staff, who had to call all his appointments for the day and reschedule!

I went to my LLL meeting today. It was great for my kids to get together with other kids and great to talk with other mamas!
