If you're on my Facebook, this is old news, but I wanted to go ahead and share anyway.

Assuming I don't go into labor and/or my BP and other symptoms don't go into overdrive before then, I'm going to be induced next Tuesday. I'll be 38 weeks, 1 day, which is pretty darned good for twins if I do say so myself. ;) The fact is, 3 out of 4 of my pregnancies, including my homebirth, and all of my miscarriages had to be helped along. My body does not let go of babies easily. And when my midwife checked me during my swab I was barely 1 cm dilated. Sigh

So anyway, my BP is still high and I'm still anemic. I have a low grade headache all the time and visual disturbances-- pretty little sparkly floaty specs, blurry vision-- and I am just generally miserable. So, next Tuesday it is. This way I am guaranteed to get a midwife I really like and a doctor who is not c-section happy. And my body has really just had it.

I just need to make it through the rest of the week-- my oldest has a concert on Thursday night, Friday afternoon is Harry Potter with the kids and then DH and I are going to dinner and I'll see Harry Potter again Friday night, then the weekend, then an US and appointment Monday to make sure the babies are still head down and my fluid is good. My MIL is coming up Monday night so we can be at the hospital at the buttcrack of dawn Tuesday.

Oooo! Babies! Hooray! :D It sounds like you have a busy week ahead, but hopefully that will be more distraction than huge mountains to climb. Definitely be thinking of you on Tuesday. Hope you respond well to the induction, that the babies stay head down, and that you feel heaps better once you get to hold them in your arms instead of your abdomen!

My advice is not to stay super busy, you are developing preeclampsia and may not make it to next Tuesday if you continue to run around. High BP, headache AND visual disturbances is not a good triad. It is very serious and puts yu at an increase risk for seizures. One if the things to do to prolong your gestation is to decrease stimuli. Loud movies, being out in the cold nights, being around a lot of people while having these symptoms are not good. Sorry to be Debbie Downer but just a FYI, you can do what you want , I just want to offer you standard medical advice for the complaints you are stating.

Well, I'm not really running around. It's one thing a day, and the thing involves me getting in the car, being dropped off at the door, sitting in a chair, being picked up again, and going to bed. And I've had four children and never once has a loud movie put me into labor. Thanks for the concern though-- I am definitely taking it easy and if my NST shows anything bad tomorrow, I'm sure I will reconsider.

I am in awe of you for planning to see Harry Potter at this point. I'm sorry that's the main thing I got out of your post, I just can't imagine it. :lol 38 weeks is excellent, you're doing great and those babies are going to be such sweet little blessings! Enjoy those last few days before meeting them, I'm so excited for you!
