Poor little guy! He's clearly not liking this bath idea, ut he had fleas. We used heavily diluted Dr. Bronner's lavender and I haven't seen any more fleas. the water was FILTHY, though.

He's just sitting in my lap wrapped in a blanket and shivering. Gonna get a low hair dryer after him in a sec.

I'm not sure if lavendar will keep them at bay... I always use (with years of success on our dogs) the peppermint (plus mix w/ a few drops of teatree oil)

If you have a heating pad, that might be better. We put it in-between a folded towel and set it to medium. I also never pass up and oppotunity to cuddle with the kitties, so I'd just wrap him up in a dry towel and hold him.

I wish I'd had peppermint! I didn't think to add a few drops of the oil to the water. Duh.

We'll see how it goes. He's an indoor cat, so maybe this did it. (Hopefully, but doubtful. )

I used to bathe my cat, Daisy all the time. Since she spent her whole first year of life at an animal shelter, she was used to the monthly baths they get.
But, because its been harder to wash her in the sink, I haven't done it in a while. Last time I gave her a bath in the bathtub, ontop of my shower chair, more water ended up on the floor rather than the cat!

One bathing thing that I found that helps a lot with fleas is Miracle Coat shampoo. It has tea tree oil and some other herb that makes your animal smell good, but repells fleas at the same time. They also make a waterless foam that you can use on cats. This stuff can be found at most pet stores.
