About the same as you've described

I need to re-read it. Nothing going on currently, I just remember the feeling and not the detail but I keep recommending it.

I literally just brought it home a few minutes ago. And hid it under some pants in my closet. I wish that they would have some kind of secret alternative bookcover for us when we get those kind of books; it's not like we can walk in the door with them and whip them out.

I have never read it. I am going to see if the library has it.

That is a great idea though, to have a way to disguise a book's cover. When I worked for the shelter and we gave out materials, some of our clients had really creative ways of hiding their books. It is sad that we have to do that

Is it a book you own, abi&bensmom? If so, can you cover it with contact paper? I am just thinking out loud here.

I got it from the library on Friday and have been trying to read it since then. I keep mine in my Chemistry lab book as that would be the last place he would ever look.

I'm not wanting to relate to any of it, but unfortunately I think I do.

I have an iPhone and I got a Kindle app, just bought it from there (amazon). It's great in that way.
A&A, the writer worked with abusers for decades. She spells out exactly why they do what they do, their thought process, etc. Other things I've read just tell you what abusive men do and that you are not crazy. She actually explains why. I found very interesting her chapter on why men become abusive. The role of role models and the society's role.

The author is male. Sadly, I think this might give him (and the book) more credibility.

I love the book and recommend it a lot... I'm still actually working on finishing it... it's been very emotional for me.

And yeah... it is hard to find places to hide all this stuff. My current materials are hidden in my laptop bag for work as H has no reason to go into it. The books I have finished are hidden behind all my fantasy books on my bookshelf at home, because H will never touch those! lol
