I just got my first sling, a Taylormade. I love it, a little hard to get her in there at first but I think I got it figured out. Thank goodness for instructions! I have her in there right now, she was sleeping and didn't really "need" me at the moment but I just love having her there, it feels great, she is so snuggly and peaceful, I just had to try it out. Wish I had one of these weeks ago! Anyway, just sharing my joy!

I am a little paranoid about her slipping out the bottom though, any trick to feeling more secure? It looks to be on correctly but maybe I just need to get used to it.

Yay! Glad to hear that you like it! You might want to check out the "common sling problems" article at www.thebabywearer.com - it has a lot of great pictures and will help you be sure you have your baby in there correctly. I'm not sure what position you have her in...if it's the cradle position, she shouldn't be able to slip out if she is down in the "pocket" well and the sling is nice and snug. If she is in the tummy-to-tummy position, also make sure she is in the pocket well and that her knees are above her bottom. Have fun with your new sling!

Thanks! Yeah, tummy to tummy, that is the only position I have tried so far. She always likes to be upright more than anything when we hold her. I like how well the sling supports her head, that is nice. She is 7 weeks and 4 days. Thanks for the link, I will definately check it out.

And yeah, there are so many pretty slings out there. I told hubby he better hope I don't like it too much cuz I will want to buy tons of slings! Well, I do like it alot but must restrain myself for a good while. I think this one will do me for a bit.

If her feet are inside the sling (best up to 3 months), just make sure the bottom edge of the fabric is pulled up against your body between the two of you to about her hips. If her feet are out (once she is able to straddle your body), make sure the bottom edge of the fabric is down to the back of her knees, which should be up with her bottom a bit lower than her knees. Hth, and congrats on happy slinging!

That is the part I don't get, how do I arrange her legs inside the sling? Doesn't seem like a comfy way to be in there, thus far I have just left them out.
