My little guy is almost 2 1/2 now, and we are still nursing a few times a day. Once first thing in the morning, once at naptime (if he takes a nap), and once at bedtime. He also occasionally wakes at night and nurses to go back to sleep. I am totally okay with all of that.

I have nursed all three of my children, but this is the first time I've nursed for this long. Although I have no desire to wean him, I sense that members of my family are starting to disapprove. Even my DH, who is a very pro-breastfeeding Dad, is starting to wonder about this, although he has not gone so far as to say I should wean the little guy.

So... I guess I'm just looking for a little encouragement. Go ahead and drop all those toddler nursing benefits on me. Even though I've probably heard them before, I sure could stand to hear them again, and I'll love you for it.

Thanks mamas!

The website previously listed will give you tons... but my favorite that I always like to ad when people make comments about it being "weird"...

Children breastfed into their toddler years (the second and third year of life) are LESS likely to abuse drugs and/or alcohol later in life. Statistics show.

Who wouldnt do that for their kid??
