I don't think the cm = weeks thing actually matches up until 20 weeks... before then there is too much mama and not enough baby to measure and get a cm = weeks match...

I thought I read so at 24 weeks+? cm tend to = weeks along?
if it's valid this early I'm in for it...I am not sure I measure as high as 12. maybe 8.
I haven't measured mine but when looking at a diagram of where it should be at 14 weeks I am definitely higher. Almost at my belly button. I am thinking that from this point til 20 weeks maybe I will just grow out not up? Don't remember from previous pgs but maybe mine is bigger because it is well used with big ole babies! I always have measured a few weeks ahead later on as it is. Hmmm....
When you hit 20 weeks your measurement in cm should correspond with how many weeks you are. Measuring a week (even 2) ahead or behind is normal too. It isn't always the size of the baby sometimes it is the position, how much amniotic fluid you have, placental placement and size.
At 20 weeks your fundus should be at your belly button. I am 11 1/2 weeks now and I am about half way there.
I measured mine last night because I know I am bigger at this point than I have been before. Right now I am 14 weeks and measuring 18cm. Right under my belly button. I have always measured 3cms over in later pg. Maybe babe has just gone through a big growth spurt or my uterus just is bigger now that I am in my 4th? I doubt I am having twins but it sure does make me think!
