Are there people just trying to get pregnant without all the science to it? I mean no temping, charting, etc? I am just trying to get pregnant without all that stuff. Yeah, I know when my period should come and round about when i may be ovulating, but other than knowing that, I don't do much of anything else, well I do it with my dh, lol.

Anyone else out there like me?

most people that come around here are looking for support because they have tried that for so long without luck, or want to do it scientifically to get it done right quickly.

myself, ive been charting for a year. Once I can TTC I plan on not charting any longer. Ive been charting to learn my body enough that I dont have the questions of... is my period late or did I o late? did we time our sex right? is my luteal phase too short? etc. and rule out certain medical problems that I am at risk for that BBT charting can help signal (such as thyroid problems, I have had hypothyroidism in the past)

However, just because you DONT do it scientifically doesnt mean we wont accept you here, especially in the ONE thread which is full of all women who are doing ALL sorts of things to get pregnant, from IUIs, donor sperm, charting, trying for a specific gender, or even in my case still waiting to try.

ILoveMyBabyBird....I'm not doing any of that like you! I know when AF comes, when I O and when we should DTD. And we are having fun with it!!!! I don't worry about anything or obsess...other than if I AM pg or not! LOL! But I just have fun with it. I don't take pg tests over and over...bc I know how it will drive me batty and I don't want to deal with that. I know that the GOOD LORD has a plan for me and it will go how He wants it to go.

That being said...I'm not in ANY way saying that the women that DO all the scientific things to TTC are wrong. NOT BY ANY MEANS. I wish that it WERE easy for everyone..then there wouldn't be heart break. I feel for these ladies and Pray that they will get their BFP SOON!!!!

Good luck to all!!!!!

I don't do anything other than guess when I'll O I'm easy though - I have a nearly perfect 28 day cycle and I get pain and pink mucus when I O...so it's pretty easy to figure it out. We just ballpark it and DTD 7 or 8 days in a row, a few either way just in case I'm off a little.

we'll see if it works as fast this time as it did the first 2

good luck to you!

welcome! clearly as we can see from previous posters here, you're bound to find like-minded people. those of us who chart are just extremely loud about it.

i agree that you should feel free to join the one thread - if you look at the front page you will notice that while a LOT of us chart, there are quite a few who don't. so you're not alone! at the end of the day, whether charting or not charting, the only thing that's going to get any of us pregnant is that magical sperm & egg combination, so you are welcome no matter how you are trying to hit on that combination!

i do think that a "TTC without Charting" thread might be useful, but since i'm charting like whoa, i'm not going to start one. but any of you should feel free to create your own thread for non-charting support!

Yes yes yes!!! So many times when I read about charting and things seem so complicated I just think to myself, "I'd much rather have sex everyday and have all my bases covered" (pun semi intended)!! I mean NO disrespect to those who chart. It's brilliant and natural and helps MANY women become mamas (or mamas again, etc). I'm very lucky in that, if I'm not breastfeeding, I get pregnant the first cycle I try. I've been TTC for 6 mos while heavily nursing my 18 month old. I don't have my AF back so there's really no point in temping. I know for a fact that I'm not pregnant b/c of lactational anovulation. Once I'm fertile I'm confident it'll happen right away. I'd just rather not chart unless I need to. I'd love to have our own thread!!

You cant really say that, since you WILL ovulate once before you get your first PPAF... you could end up pregnant before realizing you are fertile again...

Maybe it's just the scientist geek in me, but I really enjoy the charting, it's so nice to understand how my body is working, and for the first time in my life (except for when I was on BCPs) I was able to know when AF would show up.

That said, I think if you are worried that charting may make you stress/obsess, you might be better off without it.
