Just wanted to say hi to everyone here and join in on the discussions. I am new here and have posted and intro. This and the cd forums will probably be where I live . We currently co sleep with all of our children the youngest two from birth. They are ages 5.5, 3.5, and 1.5. With that being said........

Lately there has been a lot of discussions between DH and I on when is the appropriate time to talk with older children (being our 5 yr old) on when do they think they would like to try it alone without making them feel like we are kicking them out kwim?

Any advice would really help. I just don't want her to think she isn't welcome with the rest of the family, but how long do they usually stay with you?
TIA

Hey Sue! Welcome. I know the ladies here probably have a great amount of experience with this, so the only thing I could suggest is that maybe instead of talking to the 5 year old about going it alone, you could set up a little bed or mattress on your floor and see if he/she would like to try that.
