It's been almost 3 years since my preemie was born and now we're pregnant with #2. We have agreed to participate in a really cool study! It's to learn how the midwifery model of prenatal care affects the rate of recurrent preterm birth. We were selected to be in the group that gets prenatal care from a midwife! I am super excited! We get to have our midwife completely covered (not the birth though...we'll have the baby in the hospital) and we even get some compensation at the end! I would do it even if we didn't get compensated (we are huge supporters of The March of Dimes) but what the heck, we can get a much-needed carseat and some other necessities with it. This is a link to an article about the study. The doctor pictured (Dr. Walsh) was Callie's neonatologist while she was in the NICU. He was an amazing man!
