So the in print guide to kangaroo care is Susan Ludington-Hoe's book "Kangaroo Care". But does anyone have any good links to research, web pages, etc on the topic that they have found helpful?<br><br>
If we can get a lot of good links I can compile it as a sticky <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"> I know I would have personally found a sticky on it helpful when we were convincing our hospital to let us start.<br><br>
Thanks everyone <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

With actual studies referenced:<br><a href="http://www.prematurity.org/baby/kangaroo.html" target="_blank">http://www.prematurity.org/baby/kangaroo.html</a><br><br>
An article from Midwifery Today that I liked and gave to some of our nurses that weren't versed on K-Care:<br><a href="http://www.midwiferytoday.com/articles/kangaroocare.asp" target="_blank">http://www.midwiferytoday.com/articles/kangaroocare.asp</a><br><br>
A "pocket" guide to perhaps give someone a quick read that didn't want a whole article:<br><a href="http://www.umanitoba.ca/womens_health/kangaroo.htm" target="_blank">http://www.umanitoba.ca/womens_health/kangaroo.htm</a><br><br>
From the March of Dimes site, since it's "officially" respected everywhere:<br><a href="http://search.marchofdimes.com/cgi-bin/MsmGo.exe?grab_id=0&page_id=2514&query=kangaroo%20care&hiword=CARED%20CAREER%20CAREERS%20CARENET%20CARES%20CAREY%20care%20kangaroo%20" target="_blank">http://search.marchofdimes.com/cgi-b...%20kangaroo%20</a><br><br>
HTH! We did K-Care from Day1 with my 32W twins. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"> It was beautiful and calming in the midst of a storm. I contribute it a very successful start to breastfeeding. One twin latched within a few days of birth, and it made my week!

the WHO has a guide to KC written for professionals in the medical field. It has a list of studies at the back. That book was awesome for combating the crap the NICU threw at us. It costs less than $25 to order for yourself.<br><br>
