With dd's extreme desire to suck, we introduced a paci at 2 weeks No problems, kept an eye on things.
We were using the brown rubber nuk's, and last week I saw that they made clear silicone nuk's so I bought those instead.
Suddenly, dd wont nurse! I mean flat-out screaming, pulling away refusal. She will calm instantly for the paci, but fusses when she realizes no milk is comming out.
Yesterday I pumped all day and fed her with a bottle, and we took the paci away for good.
I can get her to latch on if she is half-asleep,but for day-time feedings she wont nurse at all...

Man, I am SO REGRETTING this paci thing....

Any ideas, of how to get her back on the breast?
And does anyone know how to calm a frantic, screaming baby that just wants her paci? I had a heck of a day trying to distract her and get her to suck on her fist instead.

I would get to an IBCLC lactation consultant right away, especially since the bottles are half of the problem.

You might want to post at breastfeeding.com message boards.
