I'll be in Tacoma for a couple weeks with my kids, one of whom is a budding 6yo artist, and I'd love to find a paint-your-own-pottery place, or a art/pottery workshop or class, or even an art demo. If anyone knows of anything that falls in this realm, I'd love to be pointed in the right direction.

The museum of glass is great and they have hands on stuff from time to time and blow glass onsite. On the corner of Proctor and N 27th or 28th is a new paint your own pottery shop called Art & Soul, it looks super and I have heard only good things about it. The tacoma farmers market (thurs downtown) is worth checking out too. If you have a chance taking the ferry to Vashon is fun and the island is very artist orientated they have several potters and weavers on island, worth looking into if you have time.
