i am clueless when it comes to gardening, but my son loves it. he's almost 4 and has a garden at school. we want to grow plants in pots, but it is extremely hot and sunny here. any suggestions? oh yeah, and it must be in pots.

I think tomatoes and peppers would be great!! Plus perhaps some parsley or cilantro. Each one could get a pot. Be sure that the tomatoes are in a 20 litre pail at least. ( I think thats 4 gallons). Water daily and then you could harvest the fruits and make salsa and can it !

Get some mimosa pudica seeds.

Not edible but VERY cool for kids. the leaves fold up when they are touched.

Beans are pretty easy too just make sure they have a trellis.
