On Sunday 8/13 (38w3d, day of ds1's b'day party) my pre-labor contractions finally turned into the real deal. I was excited and ready..
But, when the mw came and checked me, she thought the baby had turned back to breech again (he was breech at 33, head down at 35 weeks). She did an internal exam and felt a foot. Mw's here don't deliver breech babies at home, so we went to the hospital to confirm with US. Baby was transverse!
Contractions were fast and furious by now, ob on duty and mw (and after discussion, dh and I too) agreed that chances of vaginal delivery were low to nil and risk of cord prolapse very high, so an hour later I had my little one by emergency CS
I'm sore, and naturally, disappointed, but happy to be home, and our little Kieran Rafael is beautiful and doing great! Already nursed past his birthweight!
