Do you ever leave negative feedback for anyone?
I am in a situation where I am selling quite a bit (mostly diapers and kids clothing) on ebay, and I am getting very tired of Non Payers!
It is to the point where I am starting to add in my auctions to please contact me with payment arrangements within 3 days or I will re-list.
I havent left negative feedback for these people, I guess because my rating is 100% positive and I dont want any retailiation (them leaving negative feedback for me in response.)
So what do you do? How long do you wait for someone to pay?

Do you accept Money Orders? I have found some people take sooo long to send MO. I stipulate that they MUST email me if paying by MO. If I do not hear from anyone w/i 3 days, I send a reminder. It has not come to it, but if it does I will relist if I do not hear anything 2 days after the payment reminder.

If you dont want any propblems with Money Orders, I'd put in caps for each auction that you do not accept them or PayPal only, something to that effect.

thats a tough call...I had 100% too, till I left a bad feedback for a non-payer, and then my dh left neg feedback for some guy who never sent an item he paid for...and then we got 2 neg feedback from those people...then it went downhill from there, got a neutral from someone who I sent the item, had the receipt, but they never got it....I even took my own time to file the forms...

anyway, now i dont, am too scared, to leave more neg feedback. someone can ruin your YEARS of hard work with their 'revenge'. non payers and thieves who steal your money and dont send items, dont care if they give honest people blemished reps on ebay.

I think it effects lots of stuff, too....with the neg feedback we have, I may get less bids on items....who knows.

sometimes i have to remind myself, its just ebay. but it still sucks.

good luck

I have left negative feedback once, but only because the guy made me REALLY mad. I was selling 3 pairs of Nascar tix and this guy bid on all 3 pairs. He ended up winning only one (thank god!) and would not pay. I gave him 25 days to pay and he kept saying that he would pay. Well, he ended up not paying, and I got stuck with $200 tickets and could not go to the race. Luckily I was able to sell them to a friend the day before the race, but had I not been able to sell them I would have been out $200.

The part that made me mad was, I asked the guy to LMK if he had changed his mind about the tix so I could re-list them. I told him how my son's christening was the day of the race and I needed the $$ to pay for his christening. He never responded so I assumed he was still interested. I ended up having to notify e-bay so I could get my $$ back and I left negative feedback for him. I also blocked him from bidding on any of my future auctions.

I thought that once you notify e-bay of non-payment that person can no longer leave you feedback? Well, at least this guy never left any feedback for me.

This happened to me recently. Someone didn't pay and didn't respond to ANY emails whatsoever for over 10 days. I left negative feedback, and she IMMEDIATELT began harrassing me, sending personal attacks via email, and left negative feedback for me, ruining my perfect rating.

Someone recently told me (and I'm pretty sure this is true), that you only have 30 days to leave feedback on an auction. If you leave negative feedback for that person right before the 30 days is up (like within hours or minutes of the time being up), they will likely not have the chance to leave retaliatory feedback for you.

Argh -- how frustrating! I feel for you!

I'm having the same problem. I'm waiting on payment form someone from 9/24/03. I send 2 emails after the first invoice, if no response then I leave negative feedback.

if you have the auction number, I dont think there is a time limit or either its alot longer than 30 days to leave the feedback, because both those auctions we left feedback for were longer than 30 days.

and someone left neg feedback for me a few months after they were sold something

I love those people who dont contact or communicate until you file a fraud or leave neg feedback...then they harrass you and email like CRAZY.....why couldnt they do that before? lol

I know paypal doesnt let you do anything after 30 days....sucks, we lost alot of money over a few transactions that we never received (not all dipes, other stuff too) and it was like 1 day over 30 and it was too late. ugh.

I've never left neg, but have left a cold neutral. I think you have 90 days to leave feedback, not 30.

There is something you can do for non-paying buyers. I think you have to file in a certain amount of time and that's the only way to get your fees back. There are some great message boards on Ebay, you might want to ask there for more info on it.

I absolutely leave - feedback for a non-paying bidder. the integroty of the system depends on it. I also file a NPB report and final falue fee credit. 3 of those, and Ebay kicks you off.
Please do it, to warn us sellers, make the buyers chnage their ways, and so if they stay deadbeats, they can be kicked off Ebay! It makes it a better place for everybody.

anyway, don't worry about what they may do.
Firstly, they may be a flake and not get around to it, jsut liek they didn't bother to pay
Seocnd, if they get rude or swears or make an @ss of themseves, nobody will count the - against you
Third, whatever they put, you can repsond to it in your feedback, so anybody reading will know that it was a NPB who wrote that.

Anyway, I give a weke ro two before they get a "pay imediately or I'll file all the NPB stuff tomorow" email. Then I relist, get my fees refunded, neg them, and move on wiht life. I have over 200 transactions- 1 neut and 1 neg, both undeserved but not retaliatory.

I put in my payment terms that payment is due within 7 days of auction's end. I send a payment notice immediately after an auction ends, a reminder notice after 3 days, and a polite but firm email on the 7th day reminding them of their obligation to pay and warning them that I will file a non-paying bidder report if I haven't heard from them by a certain date-usually 2 more days. This usually works, and payment is usually received right after I send this email. I also put in the email that I understand that circumstances beyond our control occur, and if this is the case, please contact me so we can work it out.
If buyers pay soon after the warning email, I leave them positive.

I really try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and hope they will do the same for me when I mess up. My kids were recently sick for 10 days, and I didn't get anything shipped. I hope people are understanding of that.

I have read on the ebay boards that leaving pos feedback saying "transaction complete" is like code for "this transaction sucked but I don't want to leave neg".
I have left 2 negs for non-paying bidder. No feedback was left for me by these people.
Negs should always be accurate and non-inflamatory-no cursing, no calling someone an idiot or worse. I've seen feedback like that, and it makes you look really bad.
If someone leaves you neg, you can respond to it, it comes up right under it on your scorecard, so you can give some explaination. I have seen people put "non-paying buyer left retaliatory feedback" and things like that.
Don't be too quick to leave neg. I left neg quickly one time and then they paid-I felt bad, because you can't take it back. I almost left neg for a guy this week, he won an auction and then I never heard from him. He finally emailed me saying he was in the military on operations in Japan and was training or something for 2 weeks and that's why he didn't email me-I'm glad I waited.

You have 90 days to leave feedback. Exactly, like, to the minute. So, if I've had a difficult interaction with someone and want to leave a neg but worry that she'll reciprocate, I'll wait to leave it until as close to the deadline as I an. Ebay times are in Pacific time, so if you're not on the west coast you'll need to work it out...generally I'll just leave the neg, but with people who've already been nasty I worry a bit more.

I'm still 100% with 350 or so, but I know it'll happen sooner or later.
