ok... I just grafted a bodice to a skirt- 132 stitches around...

Where is my Klondike!???

What happened? I was knitting Crumpets just as happy as a lark until I found out that the pattern I had purchased, the very first pattern I had ever purchased online... was like totally off in stating the number of beads needed for the bodice- like- by half- I know- don't say you didn't try to warn me- all over the internet there is info about how many beads a person really does nead- it's just that you don't know to look until you run out of beads only two inches into it... and living an hour away from the craft store and since they were sold out of the beads I needed- I was going to be held up for a few days... days I really can't spare because the baby's birthday is next week. So I figured I would knit the skirt from the bottom up and graft after I had finished the bodice. So I did the mind numbing stockinette skirt then finished the last four repeats of the bodice pattern- and today was grafting day. My solace in the whole ordeal is that rather than having the skirt full of increases at the waist- I have very tidy K2tog all around.... only Crumpeteers will enjoy.

I need to lay down now.

Huh? What's a Klondike???

I am still constantly amazed at your resourcefulness and determination, though, and I do like the idea of knitting crumpets backwards and saving the good bits till last. Hmm. (makes pondering noise.)

It's an ice cream bar- a vanilla square coated with a thin layer of crispy chocolate. Their classic ads say "What would you do for a Klondike Bar?"

the new ads seem to be going for a rewards system of "Give that man a Klondike bar" for example- man chatting with wife at sidewalk cafe- hottie walks by- man retains eye contact with wife... "give that man a Klondike bar!"

I think the funniest thing though- true story- way back when when I was driving commercial carriages in Philly- I was driving a great big Percheron Draft Horse... this guy came walking by all in my face and said, "Yo- is dat a Klondike!?" well, the horse wasn't even a Clydesdale- but I just acted surprised at his horsie expertise and said "Why yes it is!"

Oh, I get it, it's one of those American pop culture reference type things. I'm laughing at your horsey friend though: we rode Clydesdales (I have a mild obsession with heavy horses, especially Suffolk Punches) on holiday last year, and they're fairly distinctive.
