I am so happy to see some response to this thread....
I am a big knitting fool.....when in doubt, I knit a bag.... :LOL

I met with some friends to knit on Tuesday night and asked for help with the "Lucky Clover Lace Wrap" from SnB Nation. I have a watch on some 4 ply cotton yarn right now for it.

Didn't want to offend anyone about the non baby items....I just am WORN OUT on knitting for babies...

However I do have two little boys, ages 4 & 6 that I would love to knit for.
Maybe puppets, stuffed toy....but something a bit more grown up than infant stuff....

Thanks Mamas.....

I'd love to do any felted bag, just thought of the Marsupial cause I have the pattern, but if y'all want to do a different one that's fine!

Jackie, in reference to your cotton yarn-- I really like Sugar n Cream, I think it's 4 ply, I made the Om Yoga Bag with it and I love how it came out.

Do you think it's big enough to us as a knitting bag, or maybe I could just double everything or 1.5 it? Then of course I'd have to dye another skein... unless it doesn't use the whole skein anyway OY VEY. I have to overcomplicate everything.

Thanks for the link to Sophie! I just bought the *Lily* & *Kristina* bag patterns at my LYS yesterday. Good thing I didn't buy Sophie as well! :LOL

I can't start that bag yet, though.
My 10.5 circs are in use with the Booga at the moment.
Soon as I'm done with it I will start on Sophie.

Hmmm...
Just had a thought...I could always just use my size 11's. DUH!

It isn't big enough for a knitting bag. It isn't very big once it is done.

I am not sure it would serve well as a knitting bag in a larger size..I dunno. It is rounded. Way cute but not sure about knitting bag. I guess it depoends on what you want your knitting bag to look like *L.

it is good for practicing with stitch markers and knitting in round, picking up stitches..ect ect

Now that I am thinking about it..I didn't actually use Cascade for my Sophie bag. I used Nature's Wool (ya I am rebel)..maybe it felts different and Cascade might actually make a slightly larger bag.

Darn.....now I have to make it to see if it comes out the same. :LOL

Sounds great, my 10.5s are in use but I will try to finish that today-- stuck home with a swollen jaw (wisdom teeth).

Right now my knitting bag is my purse LOL... I keep all my WIPs in Ziploc and just have a few things (crochet hook, stitch markers, etc) that are loose. I have a basket at home, I would really just use it for travelling. We'll see when it's done, otherwise I'll hit up Target.

Very excited!!!
