Actually there is an older lady in my very small rural farm town that I live in, that knits those uteruses (uteri ???? sp?) as educational tools.
I know a doula, and she mentioned to me that all the uteri that she buys come from my small town, and do I know Mrs XXX who knits them?
Of course Mrs XXX doesn't advertise this around our town, so the next time I saw her, I had to tease her and ask how her knitting was going. She laughed, and says she just tells people that they are knitted winter hats, she said its just easier to tell them that, than explain what they really are!
