I just finished the cable knit romper that I have been working on for the new babe. I must say that I LOVE it! I am sure that the legs will be too long, but they can always be rolled up, right? I am going to start a quick knitting bonnett with my leftover yarn. Finally, I have something for the new baby. I just keep on knitting things for dd, forgetting that #2 has nothing to wear

http://www.flickr.com/photos/1592454...7603731745663/

WOW, Christina! That is STUNNING!!

Alicia - what a darling little take-home outfit. That hat is adorable!!

I am a very novice knitter. My projects are small, like hats, booties, scarves, and the like. I've never attempted a sweater before, but tomorrow I'm going to convince my husband to take me to the LYS to buy some yarn to work on the kimino that MamaFern made her little one. I figure the induction will take a few hours to get going, and we've got the day to pass by. Dh can hit some balls at the driving range and I can sit and knit.

No pictures of my projects, yet. I'll try to do that sometime today.

here is the going-home outfit i finished last week:

i crocheted each of my babes a blanket, and added a newborn cap with this one:

and here are 2 pieces my MIL knitted (i can't take credit for them, though i'd love to). she has been knitting mostly beautiful soakers for the new baby, but these are so lovely, i had to share. she's quite talented, i think. one of my older boys received one of the kimonos happymomma has on her blog, too.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...o/IMG_1258.jpg
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...o/IMG_1260.jpg

i wish i had more time to crochet...

What pattern did you use for the crocheted footed leggings? They're fabulous.

The wool wrap works well so long as I make sure it completely covers the diaper. I just used some regular velcro to fasten it even though Aplix is recommended.

you're talking about mine, right? well, i should say that they are inspired by this book. i had to completely rewrite the instructions, as they are completely wrong. so i guess you could say that they are pretty much improvised. everything about the directions was a mess. (and reading the reviews on amazon.com, i can see that everyone agrees with me on that.) MIL bought me the book a few years ago. another problem is that all of the patterns are based on a specific yarn that is discontinued now. i could only find it in one store in england. but i really, really wanted to make them, cause they looked so cute in the book

Well I am knitter and crocheter and since finding out I was pregnant I have done alot of knitting for the baby. These photos are the items I have knit for my own little one. It does not contain all the items I recieved from my knit friends, which is alot:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/carmeln...7603732896639/

Oh the first photo is the layette, or at least part of the layette. The rest is just a sleeper the baby will wear home.

Thanks mamafern, the sweater is actually a version of the 5 hour baby sweater, I believe it is the one from dmade. If you google "The Quickie Baby sweater" you will find the pattern I used for the blue one and the purplely-red one was from the 5 hour baby sweater.

Here's what i have knitted for all my 2 kids and some others.. the diaper wool thread is what I have made for this babe. The orange and blue and aqua longies were knitted by someone else though. The blue and brown longies and the bunny hat is part of the coming home outfit.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/fairyblue/

Such cute stuff, ladies! I also am in love with those footed longies, HardcoreMom. Too bad the directions stink. I have had to give up crocheting, however, due to a horrible case of crochet-binge-induced tendonitis. It was the main reason that I learned to knit

Those are really great looking patterns for crocheters, though. I also had a hard time finding many crochet patterns that I liked. The wool diaper covers that I crocheted for dd are still going strong over a year later. I am surprised how much stretchier they are than I originally gave them credit for. The knit covers are great, too, but she seems to grow out of the rise faster in knit for some reason. They stretch in width but not so much vertically.

I am loving all of the diaper covers and the adorable little vest. If I end up with a boy, he will have dozens of sweater vests!

CUTE! Everyone is so talented. I've made a cardigan, booties, maryjane booties, a soaker, and a little bunny. I'm a pretty new knitter so they're all a bit rough- but I love them

I'll post pics in a bit...
