Two questions:
- since I do not have a baby yet, I think I have been completely out to lunch on how big a NB soaker needs to be to fit over a cloth diapered bum. Anyone have some measurements they can share?
- how 'open' a knit is ok to use? I am wondering because I am starting a new soaker (one of the free patterns posted here) and there seems to be a lot of room between stitches. Well, maybe not a LOT, but more than I'm used to when knitting. I don't want a totally 'closed' knit, right, because then it won't be as breathable. Should an 'open' knit be ok for a daytime soaker?

Hi, I use size 3 for soakers. I knit a little loose. It makes a nice smooth knit soaker.

I usually get about 7 stitches per inch, and it makes for a very smooth knit fabric.

Thanks for the replies and the website! My knitting binder recently had to get upgraded from a 1" binder to a 3" due to all the info/patterns I"m getting here! I'll go measure gauge tonight!
