Is anyone else knitting or crafting new baby things and want to share?

I have been trying to knit a lace shawl for me- but it is taking too much brain power so I have moved to knitting longies. I am on my second pair and they are so much fun! I will have to post a picture of the them- but I am also getting ready to knit a little layette with matching sweater, pants, and hat out of pollen malabrigo.

fun- and takes next to no brain power.

I'm in the middle of a shawl for my sil for Christmas and a poncho for my dd1 for....well, it was supposed to be for this spring, but it's way more of a knit than I had originally bargained for, so it might be for next year.

Once these are out of the way, then I would like to knit something little. I haven't knitted anything for a baby since I was pregnant with dd1! Ages upon ages...

I wish I could knit... I taught myself the basics, I just don't know how I would follow a pattern. My brain doesn't work that way.

I know the very basics of knitting and wish I could make something for this babe. I could probably do a little hat, but that would take me a while. I'm still working on a bag I started about...4 years ago.

It's on my list! As you can probably tell from my user name I like to knit (and cross stitch), but I lack time and motivation at present. Sigh. I am working on a cute cable knit fisherman's sweater for my friend's little boy, and then I need to get my butt in gear and make some stuff for this little one. I want to make some pants with feet and I found a sweet little pattern for duckie booties (they look like duck feet!). I have the yarn for a blanket for me curl up in when I breastfeed that I bought when I was pregnant with DD. I have so much yarn I need to use up...

Doing the gusset round on a pair of longies right now. For some reason they are taking me f-o-r-e-v-e-r. I have so many other projects I need to start, including a blanket, some hats, and a bunting bag. Does anyone have a newborn hat pattern they could share? I have one but I'm not loving it.

In addition to knitting, I have some sewing projects in the works, too. I just bought a quilt pattern off of Etsy that I think I can adapt to a smaller size for a new babe (I've made quilts for all my kiddos before they were born). Now I just need to fins some fabric for it that I like.

yummama- I use picky pants. buttknits has great patterns too- there just didn't seem to be enough room in the butt for my chunky babies- but she does the increases differently- maybe it would work for you?

I will bbl to post my fav hat patterns. I love to knit hats- near instant gratification.

I also want to use up all my little balls of leftover sock yarn on baby socks. Oh and another poncho for me for bfing. The one I had last time rocks- but it doesn't really go with jeans- so I need one that matches practically everything- but also super soft.....

i'd really like to knit something for this babe, but the lazy part of me wants to just re-use the longies i made for my dd. they are mostly GN in the newborn/small sizes, so they should work either way.

hats are small, though -- and little baby mittens and socks. maybe i will do some of those. also it's hard for anything to be any cuter than little baby socks

I use my own longie pattern, but the Wooly Wonders Perfection Pants pattern is also wonderful.

I haven't started making baby stuff yet. I am finishing making American Revolution reenactment costumes for my kids and I that have to be done in a month (!!!) but after that, I am going to work on baby stuff.

Does anybody have a link to a free hat pattern?? Maybe if I start with something small and seemingly uncomplicated, I might be able to pull it off?!

I usually use Treliske, Malabrigo, or BFL for longies. But I have some BBR and another merino...I forget the name...still in the stash I'll be using.

For baby hat, here are some patterns:

http://grosblog.wordpress.com/2007/0...weet-baby-cap/

http://web.archive.org/web/200806111.../baby-cap.html

http://ourquietplace.blogspot.com/20...s-for-all.html

I have enough Cascade 220 superwash to make a Moderne Baby Blanket (in red, green, yellow, and turqouise - very bright!). I also have the Vintage Baby Knits book and would love to make a couple of the sweaters. Hats, socks, and longies are also on my list, but I also have lots of knitter friends who are eager to knit for baby, so I might leave some stuff for them to do

I'm going to be working at our local yarn shop starting this weekend, so hopefully I'll be able to not only get yarn at a discount but knit while I work!

I have knit a pair of these longies in Malbrigo---so cute!
monster butt

these are also in the cue, paired with this top

I have knit this baby blanket in a brown and natural twisted yarn, through the last two m/c and the first trimester of this pregnancy---as it sits for the next couple of month I think it will be become more full of hope and a little less a reminder of sadness

some simple hats out of leftovers and maybe
this kicking bag
stay-on baby booties
and a bunch more soakers and longies
