My first knitting project is a hat that I am making for dd with some extra yarn. I ran out of one color and added a new color at the start of a new row. When I did this the stripe is not even across:

Is this normal? There must be a way for it to not look like this, right? I also noticed when I end stuff when crocheting the same thing happens with the rows and yarn. Please help!

Thanks! I will try that technique when I change colors again. I think it is really obvious on the hat I am working on because of the chunky weight of yarn.

If you pull that first stitch really tight, it will be less noticeable. Good luck getting your jogless jog!
