Anyone got any good ideas for what to do with it? I have a huge one from this week's veg box, and I'm stuck...I remember having it on holiday in Austria in a white (yoghurt? mayo? dressing, but can't make it taste like that- and I still have three quarters of the dratted thing left. Help me, please!!

(Oh- my kids and my dh don't want to even try it. That's not helping, either.)

Well, I love it raw or if oyu have a big one then my grandma used to make the BEST "kohlrabi sauerkraut".
Grate it and use it as you'd use cabbage. Cook some chopped onion and then add the grated kohlrabi, caraway seeds. Add some sugra if you want and vinegar to make it more sweat and sour. Serve with cooked potatos and - we used to serve it with - pork. Or any other kind of meat. It's delicious.

If you still have the greens on it, it's really good if you matchstick the bulb and steam, and then saute the greens thinly sliced with onion in plenty of butter. You serve the greens/onion/butter as a kind of sauce on the matchsticked and steamed bulb.

It's really good. High in fat, tho. Oh well.
We eat it that way for the big holidays - Xmas, Tday, Easter..

It's really good peeled, sliced and steamed with salt and butter.
