I just got a kombucha mama and some kefir grains, but now i'm curious how concerned I have to be? The kefir I'm not too worried about, but the kombucha is supposed to help detox your body-does that mean icky stuff will get in my milk? Thanks!

I'm not positive, but I think you don't go overboard it should be fine. I eat raw yougurt and kombucha (about 12-16 ozs) everyday and I haven't noticed any difference in my milk or my dd Just like anything take it slow at first to see what, if anything, happens.

thanks! I'll start off with little amounts and work my way up.

speaking of yogurt, i got an awesome starter from the same nice woman on ebay i got my kombucha and kefir from- it's called viili finnish yogurt and it ferments right at room temperature! no more fooling with thermometers and waiting for my milk to get to the right temp-you just dump some in a jar with mil and let it sit on the counter overnight. whoo-hoo! I just thought I would share- maybe it might save other mamas time and annoyances plus the lady is really nice and offers free email support for life. i think her store is called nick's naturals or something like that, but if you just do a search for viili in ebay you should find it.
