That about sums it up.<br>
Got a scoby, put it in a green tea mixture and it ended up getting left for 2 months.<br>
I wouldn't try to drink the 'tea', but are the scobys salvageable? The original one is beneath the new one(s), which is huge....yikes <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/duck.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Duck">: <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

I'm watching this thread. I've had one brewing on the top of the fridge since January. I haven't even had the nerve to look at it. I think you're in a much better position than I, though.

To my knowledge you can store a scoby in brewed kombucha for quite a long time, many months. I've gone as far as two months, possibly three. the scoby's get HUGE but they work just fine.

hmmmmm, kombucha vinegar<br><br>
If I could resist drinking all of mine, I'd love to have some strong K vinegar around...it helps my psoriasis (applied topically) and I could use it for my hair as my "conditioning rinse" instead of acv (no 'poo method)<br><br>
so...what are you going to do with it????? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

Oooh, good to know it's not a total wash...though that scoby is so huge I'm not sure where I'll put it (or how to get it out of the jar <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">)!<br><br>
I'm not sure what I'll do with the vinegar (didn't know it would be vinegar <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">), maybe I'll give the no poo thing another run, my current shampoos are doing a number on my scalp so maybe that will help.<br><br>
If anyone has any more ideas feel free to post away! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/loveeyes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Loveeyes">:

grab that scoby and pull! then just cut it into pieces to get a scoby a good size for your brewing container. you can do it! (positive affirmations might help <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> )<br><br>
I've been using a little kombucha (at the drinking stage) to rinse every once in a while (leaving it on longer since it's not yet as acidic as acv and since I read that kombucha could help psoriaisis). Anyway, my sweet dh has been known to "fetch" me the kombucha and drink half on his way to bring it to me in the shower! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/winky.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink">
