i own konos. it is awesome, but it isn't totally laid out for you. it involves prep and legwork. if you are familiar with galloping the globe, i think konos is similar. i LOVED GTG, but it involved a lot from me. ykwim? if you don't mind that - it is excellent. i'm not really familiar enough with HOD to give any opinion. you may want to read more about each curriculum at www.homeschoolreviews.com

I have a Konos (volume I and the compass). I think it would be a really great way to learn--the topics covered are creative and in depth and lots of hands on. But it requires a lot of work on the part of the parent to prepare individual lessons let alone use it as a whole curriculum. There is a program where a master teacher puts it together for you I believe. I can't remember the cost. I've not found anyone who does it personally to get feedback. I'm using it as sort of a supplemental activities resource right now. Even that is hard because of the way it is organized/laid out. For me anyway.

Heart of Dakota, based on the reviews here , http://www.homeschoolreviews.com/ is way different it seems. Sort of a open and go type curriculum. I doubt (just based on reviews) they are comparable. I'd read the reviews on that site though and see if you can figure out which would work better for you. There are multiple detailed reviews for both of those.

yes, they are different, and they both get good reviews. I heard the guy who wrote KONOS speak, and agreed with his philosophy. I had been leaning toward HOD, but now I think I'm just confused. If I did KONOS I would probably opt for the on-line co-op for help getting it done. Does anyone know if HOD is hands on at all?
