Hope I will get to meet some of you MDC momma's at the picnic! Who all is planning on going?

The KYMA Annual Homebirth Picnic

I took out Juliet and Candaces contact info from below since I didn't get their permission to post it but if you want to come feel free to send me an PM and I will give you their contact info if you don't have it. Or birthcare network I think has Juliet's contact info.

Fun For the Whole Family!!

When: June 2, 2007 from 1-4 pm
Where: The Salato Wildlife Center in Frankfort, KY
Invited: All area midwives and their clients, and anyone else with an interest in homebirth and/or midwifery in Kentucky. Please bring a dish to share.
Questions about the picnic?: Call Juliet or email or Candace. KYMA and KMT will be accepting donations for legislative efforts and operating expenses. We will have our ever-popular raffle once again with fantastic prizes! Checks can be made payable to KYMA.

Directions: The Salato Center is located on the grounds of the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Resources Game Farm Complex. From Louisville take I-64 to Exit 48/Lawrenceburg. Take a LEFT off of the exit onto Highway 151 (you will go under a bridge/overpass). 151 will end in a “T” at Highway 60 ~ Go RIGHT on Highway 60. You will travel approximately 4 miles. When the highway abruptly changes from 2 lanes to 4 lanes begin looking for the entrance to the KDFWR Game Farm on the Left. Turn LEFT into the complex and proceed ahead .5 miles to the Salato Wildlife Education Center. Look for the “Kentucky Midwives Alliance” banner on a picnic shelter.

Please come and visit with your midwife and other homebirth families! See you there!

We are entering a very exciting time for midwifery and homebirth supporters right now. The Kentucky Midwifery Taskforce (KMT) is committed to introducing a bill legalizing and regulating direct-entry midwifery in the state of Kentucky for the 2008 legislative session! That means we have a lot of work to do and not really a lot of time in which to do it.

One of the ways KMT raises money for its work is through this picnic so if you can donate a raffle prize or even just bring some extra cash when you come to participate in the raffle that would be great!

We saw you!! Your little girl is ADORABLE! So serious and deliberate in her walking lol. We watched her trying to figure out how to step up onto the patio area.

I was there! I had on a rust colored T-shirt. My dd had a big lady bug on her shirt. I brought a spinach quiche. I think a recipe swap should have been mandatory. There was so much good food there! I won the little hippy skirt that was in the raffle and the book "Mom and dad and I are having a baby". I can't wait to put the little skirt on my dd for the Native American Pow Wow we're going to tomorrow. Hope everyone had a good time today. I know we did!
Oh yeah Shepherdsville, not Simpsonville. I haven't been to one in years, decades maybe. We used to go to them all the time. I hope you are having fun!

Hmm missed this thread before the picnic. But I was there! I had my chunky monkey of a 4 month old with me. The one who screamed most of the last hour or so, heh. She *needed* to nurse, but kept refusing I brought the broccoli salad

www.comwired.com/rach/allie/sweet.JPG

Can I just say that my favorite foods at the picnic were the cucumber and broccoli salads! No j/k- I'd love those recipes, ladies. Thanks for coming to the picnic, and the promotional video for KMT/legislation is *almost* done!
