I'm writing this from hospital - it's all happened so fast that it hasn't sunk in yet. Yesterday I noticed a decreased amount of fetal movement, so I tried the drinking cold juice thing, lying on my side, you know all the normal things. I'd get a few kicks here and there over the day but not a normal amount. At midnight I hadn't felt a kick since 10pm so I called my ob. Be said to toto hospital.
They found the heartbeat right away and monitored me for hours, but then they did an ultrasound and while the heartbeat was fine, there really was no movment. The admitted me to a labor room; an d at about 7am his heartrate dropped very low and after trying different positions it wouldn't go back up - I was suddenly wheeled away for an emergency c section. I was so scared!
I was put under general aneshetic and they delivered him in something like 8 mins. He is 32 weeks and was born at 4lb10oz.
It seems to have been an abrupted placenta that we were really lucky to have noticed so quickly. Lachlan lost a lot of blood and was born very pale and has been having transfusions. He's in a critical condition and is oh so weak. He takes a few breaths of his ownper minute but is on a ventilator. I got to see him and touch his hand - just broke my heart poor little fella. The next 48 hours are critical for him so I'm praying and hoping be pulls through.
I'm so tired so I hope this message makes sense... I'm really still in such shock.
