I need help! I have horrible allergies. I believe I have allergies worse than anyone I have every met.... to everything outside mostly. Grass, trees, flowers, dust, cats, dogs.... the list just goes on and on. Anyway, they are so bad, that if not medicated my nasal passages get so swollen that I cannot breathe out my nose or smell. ANything. Like, once there was a fire in the kitchen WHILE I WAS COOKING and I didn't know because I coudn't smell it. Well, I have suffered medicationless (I do take benadryl at night) so I can bf my baby with no side effects for him or my milk supply.

He is 13 months now... And I have a cold on top of my normal allergies. SO, along with not being able to smell or breathe out my nose, my face and ears hurt from the sinus pressure. I REALLY REALLY want to take a decongestant. How much will this impact my supply? How will it affect him? Is there anything safe I can take? Is there anything "not TOO bad" that I can take? I am cross posting this in Health and healing as well.

I use Flonase. Claritin does nothing for me, and I can't take Bennydyl because of other meds I'm on. I broke down and took some Sudafed PE back at the beginning of my second trimester becasue I was so miserable. I also used a sinus rinse for a few days and that helped clear out the worst of the congestion and helped the Flonase work better.

I have know some people who have terrible allergies when their back is out of place. Once their back is adjusted all is well. Its true for myself, I am right now dealing with the after effects of dishsoap allergy, I need to find a chiropractor.

this is gonna sound weird, but just try it. It has never failed me or anyone I know that has tried it. My ex learned it in med school. Feel up the back of your neck to where your skull sticks out. Feel around until you find a tender spot. Now, go find DH or a willing partner (sometimes I've used an aspirin bottle). Lay on your back and have partner make both hands into fists with thumbs up. Kinda like Fonzy's 'aaayy' but both hands together. Lay your head on partner's thumbs where the tender spot is. After a couple minutes the spot isn't so tender, and your sinuses open up and you can start breathing through your nose. Sometimes it is quite gross in that you can feel all your sinuses draining in big nasty globs. Just keep doing it until the spot is no longer tender. I hope this helps.....

the spot is more on your skull than your neck. Kinda like if you could feel to the underside as it rounds down does that make sense. My massuese always hits this spot. Now I know why (she knows I have allergies)
