I am lacto-ovo, and debating the whole dairy issue. We've used organic milk, butter, cheese, and eggs for some time. I've been considering getting all of these things from a local farmer, but my DP is really uncomfortable with raw dairy.

DD (4yrs) doesn't seem to enjoy meat much anyways, but she does like cheese. She's hyper-picky and has few reliable protein sources aside from nut butters and cheese. : DS (2yrs) and DP will probably continue eating meat regardless of my choice. I'm looking to either wow the family with the new food, or at least, make it so they don't even notice. I cook dinner, so it's vegetarian with occasional meat on the side for DP and DS.

So what cookbooks, resources, recommendations could you give to someone looking to make it that last mile?

Also, the kids currently take cod liver oil in addition to flax. Is there a vegan way to get the same nutrients?

Thanks to all!!

There are tons of good vegan cookbooks, too. Browse in a bookstore and be inspired!
