i just read the article on soy in the last issue of mothering and i'm a little worried. i'm lactose intolerant (as is my dd) and we drink soy milk almost every day. Does anyone have any suggestions for replacing calcium and protein and still having something as yummy-licious as soy milk?

Hard cheeses are usually not an issue for those of us with lactose intolerance.

Between the calcium in enriched rice milk, fortified orange juice, a Viactiv chew, and a bit of cheese in your diet, I'm sure calcium will not be a problem.

Remember to get some sunlight for vitaminD and weightbearing exercise too.
