I am sooo stressed out! My poor little Ella is teething horribly. She has cried...ok it is more like an angry growl , for the last two days. She is knawing on everything! I have done teething tablets, cold things for her to chew on. I have walked her, I have nursed her, I have her in the wrap, we have gone outside......

NOTHING is working! I am completely frazzled. And in the midst of it all is poor Calen.

Arghhhhh

If you are going the herbal route, perhaps someone can recommend something to help soothe her gums. If you don't mind a little medicine, you can get a gum numbing medication you put on their gums and it stays for a few hours, then reapply. Worked wonders on my DS, and I didn't mind the medicine because he then became a happy kid again and could spend his time investigating the world. And no, it isn't filled with alcohol or anything.

Celery!! Try the celery. It worked MIRACLES for us. Get a cold stalk of celery and cut the end at a diagonal so you reveal a lot of the juicy inside. Have her gnaw on that. Celery has natural opiates in it (I think??) and it makes some people's mouths go numb. Especially if you've ever noticed that tingly feeling in your mouth when you eat celery--it's worth a shot. Watch her to make sure she doesn't get any strings or chunks she might not be able to handle.

The other thing--go out. Have someone else watch the babe for an hour and give yourself a teething-free break. Come back a fresh and happy mama.
