This annual celebration, unique to the area, attracts families from all over Chittenden and Addison Counties. Part of what makes it unique is that it is an entire day created specifically for the young child—with a leisurely pace just right for little ones. All the activities use natural materials, connecting children with the earth and the beauty of their world. Children can hold a colorful ribbon and dance around the huge Maypole, make their own garland crown out of flowers and leaves, and paint a beautiful flag. Free face painting, pony rides (available for a nominal fee), and live music make this event a springtime must-do for families with children ages six and younger.

New this year, whimsical marionette puppet shows will be taking place throughout the day! Based on traditional African Folktales, the puppet shows feature short plays geared specifically for young children. The plays will be performed by the Waldorf school’s 7th grade students, using beautifully handcrafted marionettes.

Families with are invited to bring a blanket and enjoy their first picnic of the warm weather season as we welcome spring to the North Country. Delicious lunch and snacks for grown ups and little ones will also be sold. Lake Champlain Waldorf School is located at the end of Turtle Lane, off Harbor Road in Shelburne, VT. For information please call (802) 985-2827, or visit the school’s website: www.lakechamplainwaldorfschool.org
http://www.lakechamplainwaldorfschoo...__amp__events/
