Hi there,

My family is looking to relocate to Idaho (fed up with the high regulations in NY, being looked at like I have 2 heads for our parenting choices, etc. and looking to return to simpler living ). We are looking for around 5 acres, more or less that we can create a homestead on. Would prefer some kind of livable structure on the property..could be a fixer or mobile (not an absolute must). Would LOVE to be a reasonable distance to like-minded families (green, AP, natural, non-vaxing, hsing : ). We have been saving and have cash to put down hopefully on some sort of land contract. Employment in the area isn't a problem as we work from home.

I figured it was worth a shot to put out feelers in the hopes that someone knows of something or someone who might be able to help us realize our dream.

TIA

Actually, there's an MDC mama here who's trying to sell her house in my area - if I remember right, it's a decent sized house, with right around 5 acres (a bunch of it wooded, but I haven't gone out much farther than her yard).

So are you looking at north Idaho or southern Idaho or somewhere in between?

That would be my house for sale. As you can see by my siggy, we are going on the road (though still homebasing from n.idaho). I will PM you the virtual tour.

If you decide to look in the Boise area, you could consider Idaho City or Garden Valley. Prices are higher in GV, but I think it is generally cleaner and nicer. Plus, that's where I am from originally and I'm just biased. You'd be up in the mountains in either place, so cooler temps, though you'd deal with snow in the winter.
