OK, so I spend a lot of time on the computer. MDC will do that to a girl. I have a laptop and wireless connection, so I can basically be online anywhere in the house. I find myself slouched in bed with my laptop on my lap or abdomen most of the time - sometimes for over an hour at a time.

That got me to thinking, could the electromagnetic field from my laptop do any damage? I often feel the heat from the laptop on my legs or in my abdomen and got to thinking that can't be a good thing.

Anyone know more? (Sorry if this question is strange... I hesitated to ask it, but where else but here??)

Bad for you because of the radiation and also bad for the computer because your legs are preventing that heat from being circulated away from the computer. If you don't prop it up to let it cool, you'll ruin it after a while.

Get a TV tray and make sure the back end of the laptop is propped up either on it's "legs" or put a little something under each corner so the air can circulate.

i'm not sure where i read this but i think that the bulk of the electromagnetic rays came out the rear of the laptop. i have a friend who is very conscientious in regard to the computer/radiation issue and she purchased come type of device to provide protection. again, i don't know a lot. anyone else heard something like this?
